I heard it's easy for Wizards to kite Whimsyshire because packs move slowly. Regardless, it's probably more worth it to farm Whimsyshire than fight through Act 2. I've been farming for the materials, have 3 out of the 5, not including Wirt's bell.
I'm a lvl 60 monk and Whimsyshire on Normal was easy, I think I only had two times where I had to really work for it and it was because of elite ponies... Just bought the Nightmare Staff of Herding, I'll report back how bad that is when I go through it.
Agree to disagree there. With the new drop rates they hotfixed in a week ago (below in case people hadn't seen them), it seems to me farming act 2 is pretty efficient. I'm finding that I get better stuff faster by breezing through Act 2 quickly with a two-handed weapon than taking much longer to kill things in Whimsyshire or Acts 3 & 4 with a shield (necessarily) equipped. As it is I spend half my time farming Act 2 and half my time farming Act 3. Hell – Act III and Act IV iLvl 61: 9% to 13.9% iLvl 62: 1.9% to 3.45% iLvl 63: 0% (no change) Inferno – Act I iLvl 61: 17.7% to 23.9% iLvl 62: 7.9% to 12.6% iLvl 63: 2.0% to 4.8% Inferno – Act II iLvl 61: 18.6% to 23.3% iLvl 62: 12.4% to 18.6% iLvl 63: 4.1% to 9.3% Inferno – Act III and Act IV iLvl 61: 24.1% to 27.1% iLvl 62: 16.1% to 21.7% iLvl 63: 8.0% to 16.3%
Uhh, if you're level 60, even Whimsyshire on Hell will be easy. Really? At 60 Normal Whimsyshire caused difficulty for you? That seems... odd. Whimsyshire is like Act 3/4 of the difficulty you play it on.
The problem in Act 2 for Wizards is that enemies pop out of nowhere and aren't hittable until they are within hitting range of you. That doesn't bode well for glass cannons. That's why ranged classes tend to shy away from farming Act 2 where it's harder to kite.
Assassins and those Demons in act 4 are the most annoying things in the game Not even smokescreen saves my glass cannon demon hunter from those.
I finished crafting my Staff of Herding today, but would need to upgrade it to Inferno before I can start farming it. Has anybody here killed Inferno Diablo and allow me to join their game on Act 4, Prime Evil quest so I can buy the plans? Will rep!
You want a game with some crazy economies, play Eve. Unreal how fun the economies in that game can be.
Never played Eve but On the note of D3, still haven't beaten inferno yet, because Oppressor packs makes me want to rage as a DH, and A4 isn't really worth farming. Can farm A3 somewhat comfortably now, with the exception to phase beast packs. Right now focusing on farming A2 with around 170 MF. Looking forward to next patch so I can resurrect the neglected WD again!
Dude, speaking of WD... Just discovered this build for myself. Holy crap. My desire to play WD just went up tenfold. All you gotta do is get mask/weapon/mojo with decent mana regen on them, and you can spam zombie bears infinitely. I'm only in act 1 inferno with him thus far, but man... I'm decimating rare packs so quick that halfway through the act, I don't think I've needed to use spirit walk once yet. Infinite zombie bears is just. that. awesome!
