I don't think McHale understands the game enough from a guard's perspective.

He doesn't seem to be able to relate to guards as demonstrated by the riffs with both Lowry and Kevin Martin.

He has had poor relations on two occasions now which is a pattern of bad relationships.

Forget about old coaches, bring in a fresh breeze and not that Vipers coach or SVG or some ****. Bring in some Rockets blood: Cassell or Elie!!

I'd go for our old rivals, the Utah Jazz's Jerry Sloan.

McHale is more of an assistant to the general manager. just saying, we need a real coach.

I agree the statement: "I don't think McHale understands the game enough from a guard's perspective."

He pissed Lowry and Martin off, and failed to impress Dragic to stay. Rememebr? Last year many key players wrote letters/ expressed in media to ask Adelman to stay.

Also somehow I believe that McHale is attempting to proving his "remarkable" ability of selecting "talent". He started Parsons early in the season and rarely gave chance to Morris or Chase. I love Parsons but I think Morris deserves some playing time. McHale is a arrogant-- He tries to get rid all the players played under Adelman and made surprising decisions to fans. I have a feeling that Jones will get a lot of minutes next season.

Yeah, so we should hire a former Top 50 All Time Guard coach? Even though we have 11 Power Forwards? When McHale is a Top 50 All Time Power Forward?

Dude, WTF? Players adapt to the coach. If Lowry and Martin were belly-aching for Adelmans style, they are begging to be fired. They don't fit the new coachs style. Go to work on Monday and tell your boss you want the old boss style and management plan, and see what happens to you.

McHale understands the game from a 1980's perspective.

Today's NBA is too fast for him. He needs to go. JVG is such an awesome coach. I really think he is the best coach in the NBA. You give him what Phil Jackson had and he'd have gotten the exact same results if not better.

Difference is that JVG doesn't run away when his star players retire or get traded.

Let me come back at you bro. Really, Chase was timid at best, inconsistant at worse and got beat out. And Morris was "deer in the headlights" bad, and needed his wubby in Phoenix. Did not deserve minutes.

Wow. Go back and look at McHale "80's team". Much better style of play, interior passing, shooting, rebounding, defense, etc. I only wish McHale could get this group of role players anywhere near that level of championship play. Winning. He just needs to get his style of players.

Let me just vent a minute. Any of you veteran Rox fans will get this. I just hope that McHale can get his style of players on this team. Back when men were men and sheep ran scared. When Scola was stomped on this year, McHale would have stomped on that player the next time down the court. Where were Scolas team mates? Players stood up for each other back then, and the team as a whole played tougher. As the team stands today, McHale has no physical presense down low, no big man who enforces the paint. No big man who throws a ham hock on you to back you down in the paint or to grab a board, ala Barkley. I only hope that Royce White can become that player. Or Jones. This current generation of NBA players as a whole are nowhere near the skill level or toughness of players of the 1980's. I hope McHale can find those type players and bring back that tough, hard-nosed style of play that is championship style basketball. That style could beat the OKC Thundercloud paintywaists.

...all you Asik bashers, if we get him, at least he would knock you down or put your arse in the the stands if you drive the lane. He is worth $8 million per year if he can enforce McHale's style of play, if you get what I mean.

what's with all the haters on new members like me posting a relevant topic? just cause you've been a clutchfans vet doesn't mean you have the only rights on team opinions. I've been watching basketball all my life and became a rockets fan 6 years ago cause I moved to Houston.

please stop being too pathetic as to powertripping on the internet mocking people just cause they want to discuss the team they fully follow.and support. your join date doesn't make you a better fan. none of you own the rockets. can't we be civilized and just have respect for one another as a fellow rockets fan?

who cares about grammar and writing rules. it's the internet. some of us could care less cause it's harder on the phone. find the essence of the message, not the looks of it.

it's just ridiculous seeing "senior" members here. it's a forum site, not the Congress. if you expect respect, be the first to show it.

McHale still sucks, he's very outdated.

I get McHale has an idea of how to be a great team but things change and everything evolves along with time. in evolution, if you don't adapt, you get left out. we need a modern open coach, not arrogant cocky. I'm merely saying bring JVG back cause Jennies great defense adjustments and he's seen how the game evolves cause he's also a commentator who sees first hand how teams are and keeps up with everything. while McHale just looks back in his glory days and tell awesome stories, he's not very good in adjustments.

I just dumbed down the topic cause I assumed you all saw how bad he did last year. he can't coach any other positions besides bigs. I get the work hard mentality but intelligence is also crucial.
