man, how quickly do you guys forget about former rockets? aaron brooks is a legit 20ppg scorer when healthy, we all saw that. the drop off from brooks to dragic isn't great at all. besides, the lakers won with derick freaking fisher as their pg. the magic got to the finals with rafer freaking alston as their starting pg. do you really think it's that important if we have howard??? how is small forward a major weakness? wtf. we have parsons, he's a perfect fit at the sf and royce white off the bench, omg your crazy.
    no bench?
    machado/livingston
    richardson
    white
    motie
    asik

that's a quality bench. please tell me how a team with dwight howard with more than capable role players isn't a top 4 team in the west, at the very, very least, a top 5? you guys really don't make much since. this is a very good team.

I get the feeling we might have to take on TurkeyGlue.
Does he still have *any* game?

I don't think we get Dwight without giving up Scola, to make salaries work it needs to now be Scola and Martin to get to his 19.5M salary. Plus whatever throw ins are added to sweeten the deal for Orlando.

I think top 5, with a chance to get to the 2nd round. I think both LA squads, OKC and the Spurs are better. But if Howard stays we can sign another max guy the next summer.

Doubt he's coming though so oh well.

I think this would be a top 3 possibly 4 team in the West. Aaron Brooks still has game, and I'm willing to bet that's why Morey hasn't been too worried about not having a pg on the team. Brooks probably has a home here and they may already have a gentlemen's agreement on him coming here. I also believe we are the front runners for Howard, like someone else said they've just gotten smart enough to stop talking about it. Funny how the Brooklyn deal was made all public but no one has said anything about it going through. What's taking so long? Was it a ploy in the beginning to get the Rockets to add extra draft picks like they say Brooklyn was so called about to do? In any case we added the extra draft pick, probably to appease Orlando. Howard will be here before the season starts and we'll have a playoff team with the young talent around Howard. He'll chose to stay when we bring J Smooth or CP3 here next year, plus he WON'T pass up the extra money we can offer.

the drop from Dragic to Brooks is substantial. All Brooks could really do was score, basically an undersized 2. Dragic can get you those points and actually run the team on the floor.

Or more importantly, actually pass to a big man

I dont think that's necessarily true only because Scola's got a few years left on his contract. If Orlando is rebuilding, they're going to be looking for young assets, expiring contracts, and draft picks.

I think if a DH trade does go down, i'm pretty confident that Martin, Lamb, draft picks and some fillers will be included. I dont think Morey will be willing to put Parsons in the deal.

And to the OP... that's a pretty nice lineup to start the season with. And knowing Morey and our luck with injuries, that's not the lineup we'll finish with :p

The asking price for Dwight will be higher than you think. Even if it isn't,there is no need for a disgruntled star, with a bad back. Yes,we can still get something good by trading him,but losing our young players instead of developing them is not the right thing to do.
T-Mac had a bad back too,and wasn't as good as Dwight, but we had Yao,and he wanted to come here.
Dwight doesn't. He tried very hard to go the Nets, and couldn't. He also argued with Stan, who in my opinion is a better coach than McHale.

so, I guess you don't recall the 09 playoffs very well. brooks is very good when healthy. you wouldn't even notice the drop off with dwight here, who's 10 times better than dragic will ever be.

I really like that roster but I think giving up lamb will come back to haunt us... he seems like a young mcgrady...

I like him too but I don't think we would even have him if we would have gotten Dwight Howard on draft night.

Just as the whole Gasol trade was to clear enough capspace to sign Nene, I am 100% certain that getting Dwight Howard will be followed up by another trade for a quality veteran piece.

Despite what many think, Morey's not an idiot. He knows that star players don't want to babysit youngsters and want "proven" players. Howard will cost our top-end assets, but won't take them all. He most certainly will follow up the move with other ones to create a roster that can compete with OKC/SA/LAL. Even if not quite at those levels.

First if all that was 09. Remind me what AB has done since then. Right, ride a bench and not play in the NBA for over a year.

What I remember of Brooks was a shoot first, couldn't guard a wet paper bag, had ZERO IDEA on how to deliver an entry pass to the post. Maybe because he was so short, maybe because he was busy trying not to pass the ball to Yao, either way, he sucks. Why do you not hear his name for any other team out there? No seriously try to imagine not a single other NBA franchise has reached out to him. His 15 minutes of Rox fame are gone.

    Along with:
    Buddinger
Ray Lewis on a basketball court Joey Dorsey
    Jermaine Taylor
    Brad Miller
    Hasheem Thabeet
    Marcus Morris
    Patterson
    Jonny Flynn
    Jordan Hill
    Jarred Jeffries
    Trevor Ariza
    Terrance Williams
    Gerald Green
    David Anderson
Mike James and Steve Francis part duex.

Maybe you should read up on Chicago Tribune. Most Fans do not want the Bulls to match the offer. And sports reporters are expressing the same. I hope the Bulls don't match the offer and they will be more incline to sign Lee instead.
