Sure and then I'd offer Tim Duncan a max deal.

That b sweet to land both Dirk and Timmy.

He is older than Pau Gasol. Great player but he is brings us no closer to contending than Pau would. I vote no.

lol ..this was poised as a "what if...would you?"...that's all. Slow spot in the time frame for the mega-deal Morey is working on allows this......I read somewhere.

    "Dallas we have a problem.."

I wouldn't want him btw. His lack of real inside defense and lack of real determination to go inside offensively has always bothered me.

I know "that's not his game"....

Finally someone agrees with me  Divisions mean nothing, besides top 3 seedings. It's not like MLB or NFL.

That said, the point still stands. Wouldn't trade Dirk to Houston because of the rivalry, but not just because it makes someone in your division better

Yeah no thanks, doubt it would be worth it to try to pry Dirk from Dallas anyways. Plus you forget we aren't going anywhere fast so getting rid of our *assets* for players who are past their prime wouldn't do any good unless we were getting some else in return. Which also would deplete our *assets* in the first place.

Absolutely NOT. I am not even factoring in bias right now.

THe only reason the Mavs trade him is because they don't think they can build a championship team around him being the centerpiece.

What makes you think the Rockets can do that with arguably worse players than the Mavs?

If we had a star in place than of course you trade for him, but not without some foundation
