It's a battle between Fiesta and Foodtown

But the HEB signature (___ Market) stores make everything else in town seem like digging through a dumpster.

Horrible store for different reasons, way overpriced and abhorrently pretentious.

If I hadn't seen this was about Rice Epicurean I would have thought that was about Whole Foods

For some reason I keep adding an "s" to Krogers in my pronunciation.

I think I remember you work in my area. My friends and I thought it would be HILARIOUS to go to the little carnival they host there on occasion... :( Not so funny.

The Fiesta on 1960 and 249 doesn't look run down.

Not sure about the worst, but H-E-B is clearly the best.

I was strictly an HEB Buffalo Speedway guy, but now its mostly the Whole Foods on Kirby. The only time I go to HEB is for sliced bread and steaks. The steaks at WF just don't have the marbling.

There should be like a sliding Grocery Store scale. Like, on a scale of Food Town to HEB, how would you rank ... Fiesta?

anyone remember apple tree?? I used to love Auchan! The first location they opened in Houston was in 1988 (just looked it up). Does anyone known if that area was "nice" back in the day?? I lived on spice lane when i used to visit there but that area was ghetto by then. Heard that area was prime location... hard to imagine.......

I think part of that Auchan complex is now Foodtown.

Auchan was damn weird. It was like a mini Walmart with a grocery store. The area around that former Auchan complex isn't that bad. Like if you live on the Tollway it's ok, but starting to swerve onto Beechnut you hit rough patch.

Is Gerlands still around? The one I remember changed it's name to Foodtown on the West side of town.

My favorite is definitely Kroger. Best prices and selection. The one on Buffalo Speedway is open 24 hours.

There is also Foodarama in Houston. It probably ranks above FoodTown.

I'm not a fan of Kroger at all. Overpriced when compared to HEB and they dont have a large selection of anything. Randalls might be a tad more expensive than your normal grocery store, but at least you have a larger variety to choose from. At least thats how it is in Cypress.
