If Dallas didn't have Dirk, then I don't know who would be "losing" more, this offseason: us or them. Both teams lost out on Deron and Dwight, and had solid, good players previously on the team sign somewhere else. Only thing different is they're still pretty fresh off a 'ship, and they have Dirk.
For all the whining going on here, nobody has had a worse time the last two offseasons than the Mavericks. Such a quick fall.
I hope Sessions gets both a hefty long-term contract (security) and the starting job for the Ponies. He's the kind of player I want in their rotation.
Dallas could be on its way to becoming the new Houston. Meaning they try to hang on an be competitive too long instead of taking on a rebuilding attitude. Sessions is a decent point guard but he wont take a team anywhere. I honestly don't see this team making the playoffs next year. Hello 14th pick in the lottery . It will be interesting to see the approach Cuban takes now that Dirk is slowing down. Im curious to see if he cant build another championship team from scratch.
Mavs could have resigned Chandler and repeated. Instead they end up with this mess. If you don't have under the table deals like superfriends did. Don't take the risk.
Sucks for them more. They've been a 50win team with 2 title appearances and 1 championship in the past 10 years or so. We've won 1 playoff series and struggle to make the playoffs. We're used to it

I haven't seen Sessions play much. On paper, a couple stats really jump out at me though - 1) he goes to the foul line a TON for the number of times he actually shoots and 2) he finishes really well at the rim. I like PG's who spend their time getting in the paint. I know ppl claim he can't shoot, but then he shot for a pretty good percentage from the three point line. Which brings me to my question - why is there so much hate for him on this board? Obviously, there's a lot more to it than what the stats show that I am not privy to b/c I haven't watched him much. So what is that? Also, would Dallas even guarantee Sessions the starting job? I live in Dallas, and it seems like some fans are fairly high on Beaubois?
