Thanks Clutch for believing me!! I appreciate it.....I wouldn't go out of my way just to make a story up like that like so many people here think. And I didn't post anything off the wall that Daryl told me. I was just impressed by the gesture by Daryl and the Rockets.....And definitely makes me appreciate what he is trying to accomplish as the GM of YOUR HOUSTON ROCKETS....
majority of ppl here believe you. i don't have problem what morey said. he has more moves but my question is whether his moves are reasonable or not and whether his moves can be executed or not. after seeing so many times he tried but failed, i really doubt we will see something big coming.
I could see us facilitating the Dwight to LA trade. It would land Bynum in Houston and would send a bunch of our assets to Orlando. It would be a typical Morey move. It improves the current team's playoff chances while also giving us future flexibility, since Bynum is expiring. The 2013 unrestricted free agent list includes CP3, Dwight, Bynum, Josh Smith, Millsap, Ginobili, Ellis, and Al Jefferson (and this doesn't include restricted players that can leave if their teams don't match a deal).
I think the only reason Yao Ming got a player option was because he was the First Overall pick of the draft
I've read several GMs over the years mention that a very small percentage of deals discussed ever go through. Jonathan Feigin has also mentioned recently how it took years to finally land certain guys that we were after (I think Artest was one that he mentioned). So what you call failures are most likely the norm as far as a GM's day to day job is concerned.
Not a chance we get Bynum. Quite simply because if Orlando gets Bynum, they have their blue chip prospect, someone to build around in the future. If LA doesn't trade Bynum to Orlando for Dwight, they sure as hell aren't going to entertain offers from us. I don't see how Bynum makes sense moving to Houston. It is Dwight or full on tank mode. I say if we miss out on Dwight start 5 SF/PFs and just make a run at that Bobcat's worst season record. A top 2 pick in next year's draft is projected to be someone good (Noel or Shabazz) and there may be a few surprises somewhere in the top 5.
Morey sent me an email the other day...some of it was on a personal note which I won't disclose, he basically wished my daughter (who is going through chemotherapy) well and is sending her a K-Mart jersey, the first was lost in transit. Class act,, good guy. (he saw her photo on twitter)
It's about timing..... yeah Dragic can be an allstar maybe, but we're on the clocks.....what I am guessing is they have one or two year span to trade for 2 stars or 1 superstar, 1 allstar or two young upcoming allstar.... Dragic' chances of being an allstar is slim because there are plenty of good PGs around
