Not sure he really wants to be there. One one hand he would be in Hollywood. On the other hand, he would be following in Shaq's footsteps. I think he wants to be his own guy, and he's so concerned with his image that he wouldn't risk demanding a trade to LA. Not to mention, the Lakers just got older. They signed someone who is 4 years Kobe's senior and it should make Dwight reconsider? Nah, not if he is thinking about the next 4-5-6 years even. He doesn't want to be stuck in LA with Kobe at the end of his career.

I find it hilarious that he doesn't want to go somewhere that has a legacy (center) that he has to live up to, but also thinks he deserves to be the first option anywhere he goes. Does not compute.

Not that I am impressed by any of his comments, but actually it does make sense.

He wants to be the "man" (1) as the first option ie. no Kobe. (2) as the sole center when people think of the franchise ie. no Lakers because of Kareem, Wilt, Shaq.

Nets (among many other teams) never had a truly great center. Lakers had many all time greats.

As much as I thought this would happen I think it's clear he wants to be the man on a team that hasn't been successful like the lakers, spurs, etc. Thats why brooklyn was so attractive to him, big market, haven't done well in the past couple years, star player to play with, etc...

If I'm the Clippers, and Howard agreed to the extension I would gladly give up Blake for Howard. A CP3 and Dwight combo just like they always wanted.

He's gonna milk the season in hopes of an extension plus the lower back budlging disk. He aint leaving. The owner would be a fool to have fired the coach and then trade the best center in the world.

Afterall, they drafted him from high school so they knew they were in it for the long haul.

An extension? With the magic? Why on earth would he put the team through this, if all he wants is an extension?

And the reason they trade the best center in the world is, because he's leaving for nothing, if they dont.

IF the Rockets get him it will be till the end of next season when he can go as a Unrestricted FA but he will not get the kind of monies he wants without a SnT.
