Hey Guys, I just got the opportunity to talk to Daryl Morey on the phone. I have been a season ticket holder for 14 years and called the Rockets this morning to vent some of my frustration and to let them know I was not happy with the direction. I never expected It to get to Daryl Morey and for him to take the time to call me. He actually spent about 20 mins talking to me and was very open. I REALLY appreciated thata GM would take time out of his busy day to have a conversation with me and it made me respect the guy even more. Here is a brief summary of what he said: - the Lowry trade to get a draft pick is protected 1-3 and it was done to perhaps make a trade for a bigger name because lotto picks are very valuable (perhaps Howard I was thinking to myself and he said yes it is a possibility) -They were disappointed to see Goran go but they would not give Goran a player option and that's what he wanted. That was the deal breaker I guess. It was not because Lowry was still on the roster. Dragic was assured of the starting role if he was here. -He really loves our young guys that we drafted and sees a lot of upside if we end up keeping them and don't get a superstar in the near future -the thing I liked most was when I told him I missed playoff basketball and just want the rockets to get back to the playoffs. He simply said that he has a job to build a championship team, not just a playoff team. It was good to hear that from him. - He said they are not done making moves!!!! Anyways, that's all I can remember for now but he thanked me for the support and said he only has a job because of fans who support the team. I have to admit I was very frustrated earlier today but his call gave me some hope and more appreciation for the guy and what he is trying to accomplish!! Sorry I have no proof of my conversation ..just my word I guess....
Sad I could rep only once. I'm not down on Daryl, the results will be shown once the season starts. He is one of the more calculated, strategic GMs in the league and we should be thankful to have him.
Yeah I know....But just different hearing it from the guy who actually controls everything rather than reading it in the media....he said they have nit given up on the Howard deal!!

But really if true, and ill take you for your word, than that is fantastic... you mus own club box season ticlets or some kinda high roller... i am a morey supporter, but even if i wasnt i would love hearing this... its nice to have figureheads be down to earth and open... Would rep if could...
