so, lin is a PnR machine...
can we emulate stoudemire or chandler with our glut of fast 4s?

seems like scola, motiejunas, leuer, brockman are all mid-range guys, while jones, white, patterson are beefier.

...or do we still have some under-channel with howard?

One thing seems apparent as of today, without Lin we are way below the NBA minimum. Which I think is $51M.

    All in for Lin.

We're not winning anyway this year. Sell tickets. Get sponsorships. Make Taiwanese Americans happy. Bring back Yao to coach.

Make money to buy draft picks.

    All in for Lin.

Maybe Lin wanted a starting spot so didn't accept yet but with Lowry gone now...

ironic how we go from having to cut lin cause we have too many good pgs, then a year later we have no point guards and are desperate for lin.

I hope we just sign Lin. This season for us is already going to be hard to watch, at least he's entertaining.

I'm going to miss Dragic and Lowry sorely.

Now they have Kidd. Lin might be the Rockets guy now. Knicks can match still.

Why do you guys want lin? were not winning this season, the moves that have been made this offseason has made that clear. Lin will just make our pick worse, do we really want to over pay someone to make our pick worse?

That's just it. Unless I misread something, our first-rounder this year is owned by another team.

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

Lin is just using the Rockets for a better or same contract elsewhere on a better team.

also, WE HAVE TO OVERPAY... we suck. I feel like people on this board lack common sense and basic business tactics

They probably want him to put fans in the stands. He's not an elite player, so he won't carry this team anywhere. I don't think it hurts our pick too much.

If we make the playoffs next year, the Hawks have our 1st round pick via the Nets in the T-Will trade. If we miss the playoffs, we keep it.

Ahhh, my bad. Never mind. I'd rep you for the correction if I could.

So yeah, part of me now hopes the Knicks bite on the poison pill...

That's the first good news I've heard all day. And with Felton still on the board at the very least we still have hope they won't match.

...But I guess Lin still has to WANT to be here enough to actually sign the offer sheet before any of this even matters.

For perspective here are some PGs that got paid around 7-8 million last season.

    Rodney Stuckey - 8.5m
    Kirk Hinrich - 8.0m
    Andre Miller - 7.8m
    Leandro Barbosa - 7.6m
    Jameer Nelson - 7.6m
    Raymond Felton - 7.5m
    Beno Udrih - 6.9m

I would be happy with Lin over any of those guys.
