    Even if that top 5 player seemingly doesn't want to play with the Rockets?

    So much so that it is rumored that he opted in just to block any trade to Houston?

    This sounds like a guy who really...really wants nothing to do with this team. At that point you move on.

    Idiots. Howard is not staying. Complete buffoons. Only delaying the inevitable if they get Howard. Anyone who wants him is delusional. Yes you can get him but the thing is you cannot keep him.

    i've figured it out. McHale's GM taint has rubbed off on Morey. That's gotta be it. I knew there was a huge chance of this happening ...

    A S&T will not give him any more money than outright signing with another team. The new CBA put an end to that nonsense after LeBron and Bosh. The ONLY way Dwight can get an absolute max is by re-signing.

    So you actually believe that Howard would walk away from 30 MILLION DOLLARS just because he wouldn't want to be in Houston.

    Sign and trade no longer works that way. You have to stay with your team to get the true max (5th year and 7.5% raises, rather than 4.5%).

    I'm not saying it's impossibe but it's difficult. Most of these players listed are on bad teams and Scola is not going to put them over a the top and there is not point in them to tie up their cap space on him. Lakers and Bulls are contenders that have players on this list but even if you offered them Scola these teams are projected to go over the cap and they don't have much to offer even in terms of picks.

    Dwight can easily be convinced during courting period that he could make that 30 million from endorsements by playing in Brooklyn.

    We are not getting Howard and we suck. Time to suck it up for rebuilding. Otherwise we might have kept at least some help for him.....
