Ok straight off the bat they are not better than then Heat, Knicks, Nets, Celtics, Bulls (if Rose can come back healthy). So is it a given that they are better than the Bucks, Pacer, Hawks, Cavs, etc? Just throwing this out there, are they even better than the Wizards as of now? Wall Crawford Ariza Okafor Nene Unless Jonas is the second coming of Hakeem I just don't see them making the playoffs for 5 years straight.
Yes, an all-star point guard who doesn't want to be here and will be nearing 30 and asking for a big payday by the time this team is contending. We traded that for a lottery pick. Considering what we gave up for Kyle, that's a net win.
Pacers are legit too, remember? We will probably get the pick this coming year, it will probably be around #8 or so. Not too bad, depending on who is there, and also depending on just how badly we tank this year. Two top-ten picks after a tank job and a full year for seasoning some quality youth..
This seems about right. Plus we get to watch an eastern conference team all season wondering will they / wont they make the playoffs again.
The trade was as good as done! The only reason it didn't go through was because David Stern reversed it! So technically, yeah, it was a done deal!
Its not, but it is what it is, isn't it? I'll give you he traded them, and it was vetoed, but you seem to be under the impression that the veto occured the day before the trade deadline and there was no way Morey could trade them at all.
Also, why are all the crappy teams able to trade for unprotected lottery picks from other crappy teams? We always trade with protection...
