I consider the Heat, Celtics, Nets, Knicks, 76ers, Pacers all better than the Raptors right now. So they will probably be fighting for the 7,8th seed with Magic, Bucks, Bulls,and Hawks.
i get it, but Lowry on that team really works against the value of the pick we are getting. We may not see that pick for a very very long time; and when we do see it, it could be relatively late lotto in a shallow draft. It's a big gamble for us; not so much for Toronto.

Lowry gives the Raptors a point guard who can create offense, defend, and worked to become a better outside shooter. So the Raptors got a talented, near-All-Star point guard on a reasonable, non-cap-killing contract and all for just a first-rounder, that has protections on it which are yet to be released. Why does "our best player" matter? I'm curious why people keep bringing this up. Jrue Holiday or Andre Igoudala would qualify as the "best" player on the Sixers, while Dwyane Wade and Russell Westbrook are unquestionably not the "best" players on their teams. Does that mean Holiday/Igoudala is superior to Wade and Westbrook? If you're not competing for a title, which the Rockets assuredly were not with the existing roster, it doesn't matter whether someone's your "best" player. It's about the value and where it positions you for the future. I'm not dissatisfied if the team gets a lottery pick for Kyle Lowry.
We have a lot of good trading pieces. I'd like to see us acquire a young PG like Brandon Jennings, Stephon Curry, Darren Collison, Brandon Knight or even Kemba Walker.
less lowry/dragic = less wins = higher draft pick in 2013 + whatever draft pick you get out of the trade, itself.
