I am not worrying about current tanking mode. That's fine. I don't understand why Morey sends long contracts out. If we are rebuilding, please rebuild. Don't sign long contracts this summer please.

We're trading our best player, our best value contract, and our only viable point guard for a future draft pick? You could almost (but not really) justify this if we were tanking. But if we were tanking, we wouldn't offer huge backloaded contracts to Asik and Lin. Those contracts destroy all of our financial flexibility in year 3, and make it impossible to pursue a multi-year rebuilding strategy.
Just saying, no one knows what's going on, honestly. Hell maybe Les finally gave him the thumbs up to explode it all up. *shrug* Maybe it's all part of enticing Orlando for Howard with a protected/guaranteed lotto pick and more. *shrug* Either way I like what we're doing and have all the confidence in the world with these moves.

My guess would be top 5 protected for Toronto, but top 12 protected if they win too many games. In short, Rockets probably get it if it falls between 6 and 12. If it's less than the sixth pick, or higher than the twelfth, Raps keep it. Just my guess.
