I'm going to laugh when we trade for Dwight Howard.

This is too good, I hope we put 5 6'7-6'9 forwards on the floor next season for laughs.

    I understand the trade.

Lowry disgruntled and will get paid after 2014 season ends

But we should have gotten more.

Toronto lost out on the Nash Sweepstakes and then they turned their attention back to Lowry.

We missed out on Drummond or someone else at #8 which means they need to give more for 2013 and having to wait a year in my opinion.

Really though... a lottery pick 1st rounder. That's it? For Lowry a fringe all star PG with the best contract in the NBA. Lowry makes what... 5.9M this season... Some where around there but PG like Dragic and Lin making 8M to 10M lol

Rockets get just (1) 1st round pick... Lopsided trade if you ask me.

Should have gotten at least a player back or (2) 1st round picks. Lottery or not.

Like I said, I get it. But I do believe we should have gotten more.

This off season is like a massacre.

Not real reason to make any moves besides going young and cutting cap.

Time to let Scola and Martin go. Get what you can and lets work the draft and rebuild.

Doesn't seem like it's a possibility to guarantee a lottery pick; Larry Coon's FAQ makes it very clear that the OPTION to defer a pick IS something that can be traded, but that it can only be done once, and can only be deferred for a year...

I would guess the best return the Rockets can hope for is a top-3 protected pick next year, then top-1, then unprotected.

I wouldn't be surprised to see something like top-10 protection with the option to defer, however...

LOL blaming Lowry for how fans wanted to replace him for Gogi, since he became the starter, Morey was gonna trade him no matter if he got an attitude or not. And they preferred Dragic, Morey goofed

every player that has left Houston during Morey's tenure has left under bad terms

Gogi is in phoenix now, does he have a bad attitude

    Yes, but what's your point?

It's not like Lowry is going to be a max player. If he's worth more by then we can pay him what he's worth (assuming we are contending), and if not we can try to shop him before his deal runs out.

Moot point now anyway. But you don't trade players because you are worried about having to pay them IN TWO YEARS. Unless we are full-blown blowing this thing up, this reeks of mismanagement on McHale's part. They better hope that pick turns out to be good.

Forbes makes $1.5M in 2012-13 and 2013-14, with 13-14 being a team option.

Not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven... but maybe 8 undersized power forwards. Nice.

Yes. Old formula to try to trade "assets" for a superstar failed. I am also good with starting all over. We will be lucky to win 15 games next year, which is fine. That might be the only way we will get real talent. If will be a long process, but it may work.

If Dragic and Lowry were on the market together right now. Lowry could get significantly more

    Wow another Forward.

Did Morris sleep with sleep with and never call one of Les' relatives or something, since we drafted the kid, we've done NOTHING but get people to play the position we said we wanted him to play. Even after trading Chase Budinger, we do another one that nets us two more forwards before the two we drafted.

WTF does this mean? 100 forwards isn't innovative enough ?

    Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA
The Rockets and Raptors are working on something "innovative," source says, with lottery protection on 1st round pick returning to Houston.

LOL - at the Merry go round, and all the people that were celebrating Goran being signed by Phoenix to clear the way for Lowry's return.

I wonder now, if Morey can go back to Goran, I mean no actual contracts can be signed, so he could technically offer more, now that Lowry is gone.
