Funny how all those teams with alleged CAP issues are still able to get things done, while our flexible team wanders around in the dessert looking for an oasis.

    NO! IT really wasn't.
Yao *was* a risk! Morey seems Risk adverse
It was HATED ON by EVERYONE
[He will never score 20 points in a game - Charles Barkley]

Fans here absolutely FREAKED OUT because Steve Francis Said WE DON'T NEED A PG!!
J Williams was seens as having so much upside it was ridiculous

    Who is revising History now?

Two pretty significant trades before the draft, and two offers already for RFA's. And much more to come.

What exactly is your definition of 'getting things done'?

    smh

You must have been too young to know what was going on then. The CD era was the worst era of the franchise.

The reason CD was fired because he couldn't get it done.

Morey is the reason why we had three 50 win seasons and the 22 game winning streak.

It really just comes down to two unreliable superstars. If they stayed healthy, everyone would be kissing Moreys feet

    *cough*JVG*cough*Adelman*cough*

    I think - a declining Olajuwon exposed CD's weaknesses
a Decline TMAC and YAo is exposing Morey's

Since we like to use the INJURY card to protect Morey
Remember . .. Barkley went down to injury
Morey being hamstrung by TMAC's emergency surgery is like Pippen forcing his way out of Houston. Both's trade value sucked because of it.
Drexler left and we got nothing for him . . .
on and on and on . . .

Yao Ming was the favorite to go #1 from the beginning:

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nbadraft/story?id=1384273
    http://sports.espn.go.com/nbadraft/tracker/player?playerId=18333

He wasn't a slam dunk, as people had concerns (more about Chinese Government than the player, not that they didn't consider him a talent risk as well), but people did think Yao was going to be the 1st overall pick.

Morey stated that Ariza's contract would be movable even if he didn't progress from his breakout performance in the playoffs. And he did, and got an even better player at a cheaper price.

Asik could well be matched (I think the Bulls work out their problems later), and is a whopping big expiry that could well be an asset. Too early to tell on this one.

I think a better comparison of the two is the fact that CD's moves were more or less detrimental to the team while Morey's moves are at the very least keeping our heads afloat against the competition.

We all know Morey prefers to tank but Les prefers not to. Morey isnt working for us - he's working for Les.

Good pick is CD, bad pick is Morey. Yao's China connection is Le$, but Yao's a CD pick, not Le$.

CD got players in the twilight of their careers. T-Mac/Yao injuries occured in the prime of their careers.

    See difference? No?

C'Mon, was headcase Artest safe? Was Rudy for Battier safe? Was trading Alston in the middle of play-off year safe? Is offering Asik a back-loaded deal safe? Was trading reigning MIP for Dragic safe? Was getting a limited-protection 1st round pick from the Knicks playing it safe?

Safe? Maybe smart is a better term? Yes, CD took chances but they were very poor ones. CD threw around contracts like it was candy. Bad players getting bad contracts. smh.

Morey, on the other hand, traded a rookie for Ron Artest. Morey also landed Pau Gasol (and most probably Nene) before the veto happened for Scola, Martin and Dragic. Had we not been victims of Stern, No doubt we wouldve made noise in the playoffs last season. Morey turned **** players into solid role players (and trade bait). Its been years since the Rockets had the burden of unloading a horrendous contract.

CD doesn't get credit for Cassell or Drexler or Horry.

Inevitably you forget how spotty of a GM he was through the filter of current events.

But if you're worried about results, check these results. CD could get 'stars' but built the most pathetic, shallow teams around them.

    [CD inherits 2x championship team]
    1997 Lost WCF
    1998 Lost 1st
    1999 Lost 1st
    2000 ----
    2001 ----
    2002 ----
    2003 ----
    2004 Lost 1st
    2005 Lost 1st
    2006 Lost 1st
    2007 ----

    [Morey inherits injured Yao-Tmac duo]
    2008 Lost 1st
    2009 Lost 2nd
    2010 ----
    2011 ----
    2012 ----

This is not a 'defend Morey post'. I'm starting to get sour on him. But CD? Please...

Morey's ONLY job is to make the team better, can you honestly say it is better than when he took over?

Can you honestly say it is better this year than last?

If the answer is no, then he is not doing his job.

did not re- write history . Just said at least they were fun to watch. next I am predicting a worse record than this year, without any player that I will be excited to watch ala francis. basically boring games leading to a failed seasaon.
with all due repect to Luis of course.
