I would be fine with them going young too, but that doesn't seem to be what they are doing, with their offer to Asik (Probably matched) and Lin (probably matched) - they seem to be wallowing in the muck.

I agree with you, but Morey's job is to build a winning team without tanking. If a team doesn't win, you move on and try to improve the team - which eventually means letting some players go, and trading others away while keeping payroll in check to remain flexible.

How are we, the fans, any different from Morey at this point? We wanna trade Kyle, we wanna trade KMart, we wanna trade Scola, we trade this piece, and that piece in hopes for something in return to make this team better - why else do we have a "random trades thread" every year? We as fans also see our team as assets! How can we expect anything different from our GM?

While i may not like Morey's approach when he says "everyone is a tradable asset" or "everyone is on the block" in the media, but these players need to realize that they are what they're not... which is, they are not SUPERSTARS and regardless of where they go, they will be treated the same way.

How in the world do you offer a stiff like Asik over $8 million and you let a rising PG in Dragic go for only $7.5m.

I mean WTF is Morey doing?

If they sign Lin it is pretty clear that all they are trying to do is fool people and put butts in the seats.

Morey is in a tough position. He does need to continue to makes moves to make the Rockets a contender. That being said, just cause he has to do this doesnt mean the players should pity him. I said this in another thread. Why should a player sign here when the chance of getting traded is a lot higher than most other teams? Probably one of the factors as to why the Rockets have signed very few players in free agency. They have gotten Dalembert, Brad Miller, and... who else? For a team constantly looking for change why havent they signed anyone better?

Your right about the fans perspective. Its not saying much cause a lot of stupid things are said here on clutchfans.

Its actually quite simple...we overpaid for a center...which most have to do these days...and we market valued Dragic.(and we gave him 8 mil)

Im just gonig by what these mock drafts written out are saying. If there was a year to genuinely tank it would be last draft (2012). Someone like Thomas Robinson or Drummond woulda been great for Houston

But all I heard leading up until this draft was it was Anthony Davis and a bunch of garbage.

Nerlens Noel and Shabazz Mohammed are going 1-2 in next years' draft.

We did not offer 8 million, that is more than he got in Phoenix, Morey lowballed him and is paying a worse player in Lin the same amount - ironically the Knicks will match and so will the Bulls and Morey will again be exposed as a guy who tries, but just is not good enough to get it done.

Can you provide some evidence for your statement, presented as fact, that players are 'more likely to be traded' if they come here than 'most other teams'?

Without a doubt now. His direction was not what he wanted. It was forced on him by his lack of ability to do anything in this offseason. The fact he cant do his job is reason for firing. I like the direction now that he cant do his job right. Being forced into this direction of rebuilding is not reason to give him any praise. He just struck out and has to rebuild now or at best go at a few more additions to make the Rockets a 500 team again.

    Can't do his job?

What do you think he has, a magic wand?

It's really starting to look like this board is getting trolled en-masse by other teams' fans trying to make CF look like a collection of r****ded idiots.

No, but he can take pen to paper and sign our best player Dragic instead of letting him walk for nothing.

Or, he could stop asking for the moon for his mediocre talent like Lowry, Kmart and Scola - and just get on with clearing the roster for a youth movement.

    Here is what will happen:

We still run Kmart, Lowry, and Scola out there at the start of the year, and they are just good enough to guarantee we get the.....wait for it....

14th pick....and Morey will get a shot to try again.

    Go Houston CLIPPERS GO !

Contracts can't even be signed yet, and you're already having a meltdown. This is gonna be a longggg off season for you and many others here.
