Ya got that right.

The way I see it, they tried to get a star, make some trades and sign some free agents and nothing (so far) has worked out.

Assuming the rumors are correct and Lin doesn't come here and the Bulls match Asik then it is time to play all the youngsters and take our lumps.

"Rebuilding" is what some here have been screaming for so maybe now you'll get what you say you want.

But who here wants to bet that some of those same people who want the team to "tank" and rebuild will be the ones who either disappear and no longer follow the team closely anymore (at least until the Rockets get better. Then they'll come back) or they will stick around and piss and moan about how the team sucks and how the coaches & everyone in the front office needs to be canned?

If you say you want the team to rebuild then expect them to lose games about 75% of the time. If you can't handle that then I do not know what to tell you except jump on someone else's bandwagon...

 

Morey supporter here. I don't know what I make of this team anymore. We say we're committed to winning but can't even pony up a fair salary for Dragic. Instead, we riskily offer the same money to an inferior player for marketing reasons. I hope it pays off (maybe this is some last ditch effort to attract a superstar that wants to play with Lin), but I'm pretty disappointed in our front office right now. You cant even give them the benefit of the doubt on this one and morale in the locker room has to be at an all time low. Now, let us pray there is some grander plan in the works. That, however, is rather doubtful at this point.

Even if it were true, who cares about losing the best player on a 42 win team, especially given that he choked down the stretch?

Speaking of Knee Jerk reactions. I think it would have been a Knee Jerk reaction for the Rockets to have given up on Lowry after a bacterial infection and a slight run-in with a coach that probably wont be part of the organization after next season anyways.

Again, the Dragic & Lin offers were merely to come back as backups to Lowry. Not to be franchise PG's with the assurance that they would be starters. That seems to be the main hesitation coming from these guys when they walk away from the table with Morey. They both want to be starters in Houston, but Morey is not able to give them that reassurance.

Instead the conversation must be something like..."We love your talent and potential, but there is a guy on our roster named Kyle Lowry you are going to be have to beat out next season... if you can live with that then here is our offer."

 

I think the Rockets are trying to tank without making it obvious.

Just got clarification on this. Not official till July 14th. Bulls can match between July 11th and July 14th. They are probably trying to work out a trade right now for Boozer, Noah, or Deng. I also expect them to jump in the running for Dwight Howard in the next week as well. Wouldn't count on Asik being a Rocket until we see what happens with Chicago in the next week.

 

People who are assuming McHale will be gone after next season - lol @ you.

For my first post on the boards I just want to say how absolutely pathetic it is we let Dragic walk. That is a fine deal for a PG of his caliber. Where is this team going? Now we're going go throw 30M at Jeremy Lin? Really? I hope the Knicks match, to make matters worse, even if we tank, next years draft is horrible.

 

It's rebuilding when you sign trash players (Asik & Lin) to contracts that eat salary cap. If you want to let players walk, let them walk. Don't pay trash big money to replace them.
