The old reports had the Rockets offering 8 million and Dragic seeking 10+ million.

Blame the Rockets for not being willing to overspend the market price, but I'm not sure that they "low-balled" him.

 

It is clear that the Rockets thought the offer was "too rich".

 

Bro, if we were offering $8 mil we would have gotten him since he ultimately accepted $7.5 with incentives. I think it's obvious that the organization didn't place the same value on Dragic as a lot of us did.

I don't know why Phoenix is any better a destination than we are anyways. They are the team that dumped him, ALONG WITH A FIRST ROUNDER, for Aaron Brooks. That essentially denotes that he had negative trade value and Phoenix couldn't wait to get rid of him.

Hard to do that when you have another guy who can do the same job for 3 m less. Which is why I don't get the Lin deal. Lin's one month madness shouldn't garner a $30mil contract, imo.

Why pay Lin virtually the same if reports are true, and you get back a much less proven player?

 

The money was painfully doable, but The Rockets wouldn't, couldn't, and shouldn't guarantee anybody a starting position. You cannot predict if Lowery will be traded. He's under contract at a fair price, he was playing at an all star level before he got sick, he could very well return to an all star level this year. A coach could not say, uh yeah but, well we promised Gogi he could start, like some junior Y team player whose mommy owns the only Suburban.

In the professional leagues, everyday is competition. You have to believe you are going to outwork the other guy, your team and the opposing team.

 

Is it not obvious why the ROX didn't aggressively persue Dragic? The Rox want LIN!! He's the money maker, period. Very similar stats and one guy had the nation talking about him at every bar. No brainer.

The irony of Zoran on our summer league team will be the gift that keeps on giving. If he sucks, it'll be used to redicule Goran. If he's good, it'll be used to redicule Goran. And either way, members will use Zoran to redicule Morey. Gotta love the summer.

 

Houston will be fine with lowry. even if klow dislikes mchale, he's a competitor and will still give 100% in games. whether this beef causes tension and has a trickle effect onto the other players...
