I thought we should've paid him the $10 million. The fact we didn't even offer $8.5 is a killer. Looks like we're officially tanking. I do feel good about Jeremy Lamb at least.

It wasn't about the money. Apparently Charlotte offered 9 mil a year as well. Dragic just wanted to play in Phoenix. Probably because of the guaranteed starting job.

I think it has to do with marketing and bringing back the asian community to the rockets.

It's $7.5 mil per year. Dragic can get a $1 mil bonus each year he makes the All Stars.

Dont be sad. Lets not lock ourselves into bad contracts for role players. Its not that time yet. We wont be competing next year. If we are it will be a miracle. Here is what comes with that? Maybe the miracle comes from the rookies. Maybe we have a better draft pick if we lose? Anyhow all these things lead to a definite direction now.

Its the best thing ever for the Rockets team. I know you think losing or playing rookies wont be such a great idea at first. Nobody will if the record reflects it in a bad way. In the long run this needed to happen. Of course its gonna be along season if they make no more moves but they will. So the team will be improved in some way than it is today.

But we signed Asik. It wish Bulls will match somehow otherwise we will be stuck with his albatross contract.

They can do that with Asik. Not with Asik and Dragic though. Thats two role players making too much money. At some point you have to stop the gravy train until you have players worth it to spend it on.

Exactly. Asik makes no sense after losing out on dragic and lin. No need for Asik if we're in tank mode.

Maybe Dragic just really wanted to play for the Suns, and even if we had offered more he would have chosen the Suns. We do not know why he choose the Suns.

I'm fine with Asik's contract because big men are hard to find. But for Dragic, he's far from a game changer, so I,m not sad. ;)

He is young. He can be here when the young guys start to come into the franchises possession. I would like young guys with talent. Of course tanking means you have to take a chance one or two young guys turns into stars and keepers. That may mean winning unexpectedly more than thought or losing more than thought. Either way the young guys do it and gain value. Asik is one of those younger players.

Even if we tank, I still want to enjoy watching the team compete, not watching a layup drill by the opposing team. Scouts and GM's around the league rave about his elite defense, I'll take their word for it.

    Thank you.
Don't know why people seem to keep missing that.

I think that is on the high end of the spectrum for a player of Goran's caliber but still within market. Makes one further question what the Rocket's offer could have been.

I'm telling you... Lowry/Lamb/Parsons/White/Montie will be fun as hell to watch.

I can't buy that he simply signed with Phoenix because of half a million more per year. WTF is going on at TC?

It's quite possible he just wanted to be in the PHX system again. Gentry still runs Dantoni stuff which he is familiar with and would boost his stats.

He's also the "savior" of PHX as the successor to Nash, as opposed to being one of the starting 5 in Houston.
