If Machado can put dish the assists anything like in college , he and Lamb will be really exciting. The one thing I would change would be White at SF , I think he will pass Parsons early in the season as starter

You mean three years ago when we started a 6-6 no-offense Hayes at center, 3rd year role player Scola at PF, no-offense Battier at SF, no-offense Ariza at SG, and 3rd year PG in Brooks? Backed up by 3rd year Landry, and perennial backup Lowry?

If you don't remember, people were pegging that team for 30 wins that year. Basically, Morey screwed himself when all his assets turned out to better than what we traded them for.

lets start the kids and begin this rebuilding project. If we fight for a playoff spot then we have a good future.

God are you serious? Patterson was INJURED. For all those questioning McHale's ability to develop young players, just look at Chandler Parsons. McHale is certainly not Popovich, but he isn't Mike Brown either.

I'd rather have Machado start if it came down to that.

Given that McHale is the coach, if White passes Parsons he will start. McHale HATES losing. But does White have the lateral quickness to guard a SF in the NBA? I would bet not.

Fingers crossed that NY matches, absolutely, if only so we're not flooded with hundreds of idiots with Lin in their name.

morey planned this horrific offseason. he makes it seem like he's trying to win but in reality he just wants to tank. rebuilding, here we come.

nah but seriously, morey tried this offseason and I'm sure he tried really hard. but when things weren't going our way he saw an opportunity to rebuild.

Yeah I would not be unhappy. I've been wanting to blow it up and rebuild with a youth movement ever since Yao's last injury.

Not sure if serious? By three years ago, I'm assuming you mean the 2009-2010 season. At the beginning of that season, we still had T-Mac under contract. Yao was already down for the year, but there was still a good chance he was going to make it back. To say that we should have blew it up that year is just irresponsible - how were we going to "blow it up"? What if Yao makes a full comeback? Hindsight is always 20/20.

At the trade deadline that season, we were able to package T-Mac + Landry for Martin and multiple picks from the Knicks for taking on Jefferies' contract. Granted, the trade didn't work out as well has we had anticipated, but that's a relative term. It was still a brilliant trade by all metrics.

First of all, your recollection of what happened "3 years ago" is completely incorrect. Secondly, I have serious trouble grasping your point - are you criticizing Morey for making good trades ? For getting good players in return?:confused:

If they took on Lowry & Scola for Calderon & Ross I'd throw in Lamb as well along with the 1st rd pick being lottery protected.

But I hope that both Bulls/Knicks match the offers for Asik/Lin cause I think it would be a huge hit to our salary when their backloaded contracts come into play.

Going with youngsters should have been the plan all along starting the day we realized Yao wasn't coming back. We missed a really good opportunity to have a high draft pick this year. Unless big time free agents are actually lining up to come play for your team, you can not rebuild by staying mediocre.

Yes, only because I don't see the point in spending money just to spend money, making moves just to make moves. You risk the chance of putting your team in a further hole for multiple years.

Keep making minor moves to ensure cap flexibility and hope one of your young guys goes off.

Was he? He had surgery pre-season on a bone spur, but I don't remember him being injured from anything else. Regardless, I think it's fair to say it took him much longer to get his legs back under him, and even by the end of the season he still didn't look near as promising the year prior.
