Lakers and Celtics just reloading and going back to war. Two incredible franchises. Celtics may run off Miami next season if they keep adding parts.
i knew about that but wouldnt u want your new team to have their draft picks?i understand if players where involved for lakers to get under the cap but it was only draft picks.if he was a free agent he couldve just signed with lakers.im just curious as to why there was a sign and trade when hes free to sign with whoever he wants.
Days like today make it really hard to stay a fan of the NBA. Lakers and/or Celtics reloading? Check. Players continuing to create super teams? Check. Small market teams at a disadvantage? Check. I love basketball. I'm fascinated following the details during free agency. I think the NBA playoffs are fantastic and full of drama. But when the same damn teams keep getting players year after year. What's the point? Maybe i'll check out Hockey this year.
I dont think he's gonna play past 40. And besides these picks are always in the 20s what good is that
Couldn't have gotten this much from the Lakers without a sign and trade. Lakers over the cap, but used the Odm trade exception. The Suns did Nash an offer ... 2 last 1st round and 2 late 2nd round picks for Nash
So if LeBron and Wade were rivals, after never meeting in the playoffs, then what the hell are Kobe & Nash? Where is all this talk of real men don't stack the deck, blah blah blah.
They will be near the $88-90 million range next season and won't have much depth. Par for the course.
They put in decade+ of service with their respective teams going up against rivals like the Big 3 in Boston did. Lebron just got scared he couldn't do it in his prime and buddied up with Bosh and Wade
If he played for the Lakers, he wouldn't have to move. Give him Gasol and he would still be a Cavalier. Playing for the Lakers has its privileges. There's a reason the Lakers haven't sucked for a long time, before Kobe, and will be after Kobe.
Unless the Lakers trade for Howard, add outside shooting and some depth, I think you are right. Nash can't play full-time starter's minutes an entire season and Steve Blake is a pathetic backup. Maybe Sessions returns and gets his $4 million spread over 2 years. Backing up their bigs is none other than Josh McRoberts. Even adding Nash, I don't believe the Lakers are a championship contender. But this is a move in the right direction.
+1. But they will be better than last year. For them to truly contend and surpass OKC in the West, Bynum has to go to another level, or they have to get Howard. But can you imagine a scenario if they lose Bynum for Howard, and throw out a lineup of G - Nash G - Kobe F - Artest F - Gasol C - Howard LOL, that's AN all-star team right there (outside of Artest).
