I really can see the Rockets getting great value in a trade to either the Knicks(for Iman Shumpert) or the Raptors for 2013 pick(s). Nash going to LA is really goin to make these teams desperate for Lowry and his services... Toronto could overpay Dragic, but Dragic will have to decide on either money or location. Being in Canada could be a deal breaker...just imo
Still hopeing for dragic.. need a pg that can play.. not a below average cash cow in lin.. so yeah trade lowry ofcoarse..
maybe should change the title...to how much value can we get back from trading Lowry... with Toronto...would love at a chance to go after a draft pick...they will be a lottery team yet again next year..
Trade Lowry and lose Dragic and you are preparing to go into the season with Machado at pg? I dont see how we can trade Lowry at this point. Lowry needs to grow up and just play ball. His attitude should improve alot simply by (1) getting his health back and (2) being the only veteran pg on the roster. Plus, it is incumbent on McHale to soothe the relationship over. If I were Les, I would order it done. Clutch made the point on the radio that once the Howard situation is resolved, that the trade market will open up. But, there is no telling how long this whole DHo drama will last. We cannot wait forever.
Shumpert, raptors 2013 pick? Lowry was close to being an allstar this year. Most of ya'll seemed to forget how good he is, enough of all this lowry must go, lowry is THE best player on this team and should only be traded for some one with similar value.
Personally i really love Lowry...he was healthy for the most part and really carried the team for the majority of thhe season...and a freak bacterial infection ruined the team down the stretch...and allowed for Goran to seek starting salary deals... But Lowry is our best trade chip...i really dont want to see a repeat of this years draft...being at number 14 yet again...you tank or build a title contender...the latter looks impossible now....
Shumpert is a damn good on the ball defender....would love him here(easily fit the bill of a Lee) And yes... as I mentioned...teh Rockets day by day appear to really not be a true contender even for a playoff roster...and lacks the name power to actually be relevant....players may say otherwise once the season starts...but the Rockets...should really consider Tanking now...
This is the best thing that could of happened, really. Houston ends up w/the best point guard for the price and everyone else overpays. Now Morey, Les and Lurch need to smooth things over w/Lowry, hand him over they keys and let him steer these young guys in the right direction. I just hope it's over. It seems like everyone wants to make moves just for the sake of making moves; all the while we already have the right point guard at right price. Having said that, I would have traded Lowry for Drummond on draft night and overPAID Dragic to comeback. I think Drummomd could develope into a beast.... but Toronto screwed the pooch and that is not Houston's destiny.
If the Knicks were to trade Shumpert to Houston for Lowery, the question is would they rather just have Lin and Shumpert or Lowery. I say it this way because they aren't going to match Lin if they got Lowery. I guess I just don't see why wouldn't just stick with the status quo and hope Shumpert improves from rookie to sophomore seasons.
Lowry burnt bridges with rockets and coach... must be traded now... Trade for shumpert / Lin works for both teams.. shumpert is all star potential
Right now Toronto can go two routes...request for a trade for Lowry(really want him there)... or can overpay Dragic(arent that big of fans) If the Raptors want lowry...we should really find a way to get something sweet in return...and they would be an excellent team to trade with... The knicks just want someone to run point...while the theory that they can just pay for Lin now, they will destroy their franchise, when none of their players can or will be traded...
Status quo could kill them in the future...I know i shouldnt care...but im just trying to make my good Knicks buddy feel a lil better...(Nash going to LAL...has crushed himlol...)
