Nash is 38. Kobe is 33. If they don't win a 'chip in 2 years, this team will suck so bad b/c they won't have any young guys to take over. Picks are picks are regardless. Lakers going all in now, but it's not a guarantee they will win.

Word is KOBE was actually one of the reasons Nash did choose the Lakers.
I think Stein mentioned the fact that Nash will be closer to his daughters was probably the most important factor, then Kobe also gave Nash a good pitch apparently.

The Mavs had a slim chance and it all depended on Dirk. Nash's agent and Cuban aren't on best terms and I'm sure Duffy looked everywhere but Dallas for a deal.

Nash gets 3-year guaranteed $27 million deal, his agent Bill Duffy tells Y! "He's ecstatic. He gets to be close to his children," Duffy said

Apparently Nash agreed to the trade because he gets to be close to his children.

My post was in regards to Dwight Howard, not Steve Nash.

That's not how NBA teams work. Even Comic Sans Guy swallowed his anger and did S&T with Miami.

nash helped his old team out by doing a sign and trade.. they got future picks, i'm sure first rounders.. they may be low first rounders but they have 2 each for however many that LA gave them..

he could have signed outright with anyone.. am i right?

i dpon't see how this is LA screwing phx? to me Nash helped out his old team by doing this and PHX is helping nash get more money and a shot at a title..

With Steve Nash now in Los Angeles, Ramon Sessions will not be returning to the Lakers. He'll weigh his options and sign elsewhere.

So Blake is now the backup. OR Nash has to play big minutes. So maybe not all great for the Lakers.

True, but even with a Knicks trade I think they had the cap space to sign Gordon. So this is negligible.

I don't think the picks are very compelling. Not compelling enough to give up on Eric Gordon. Even if that were the case, they would probably like the opportunity to test the entire market to see what they can get for Gordon. NO will resign him I'm almost positive.

I pretty much agree with this unless the Knicks are scared of the 3rd year cap hit. Another possibility is next December Houston puts together a sign and trade for Lin for Lowry.

You assume 2 things. First that this news affects Howards mindset towards Los Angeles. I personally think it makes no difference. If he was set on not re-signing with the Lakers, how does adding Nash really change that? Also, you assume the Lakers wouldn't try it with the guys they got. Will they really want a malcontent in Howard with back issues over Bynum/Pau? I'm really not sure they would.

Agreed. But there are always teams that need talent. The Lakers never struck me as the best option for trades anyway.

Sessions is gone. His agent screwed it up like Ariza's agent did
