I'm pretty sure he means legit PvP. Its a perfect endgame for a loot-based game like this. Too bad Blizzard failed to implement it for whatever reason.
So....after Diablo 2, which repeated back to the start after you finished the game but a higher difficulty, you decided to play Diablo 3 because...? And isn't this with every game? You beat it so you try it on a harder difficulty level.
Well, that's different. Maybe it's semantics, but to me a PK'er is someone who just runs around trying to ruin other peoples' day by just killing them. It's a form of sadism, getting your kicks from inflicting misery on others. I have no respect for the 'people' who enjoy that sort of thing. Now legit PvP on the other hand, there is nothing wrong with that, although there are plenty of sadistic richard-heads in PvP as well. Generally speaking, it's people like that who cause me to despise multi-player games for the most part, and usually just concentrate on the single-player experience as a result.
Reminds me way back in the days when I still played WoW, I had a lv60 human warrior with a couple of decent epic gears. There was one day, I was travelling in hillsbrad, when I saw a group of 5 lv40ish horde newbs coming my way. (They were probably on their way to a dungeon or something.) We all stopped right away when we saw each other and just stared at each other for a sec. I knew they were scared and didn't know what to do. I got the faster mount so they couldn't run from me; they got 5 guys so there was some chance they could take me down and res whoever died; or maybe I would just pass them by peacefully . Some of them casted buffs on themselves, while some others waved/bowed at me. I decided to wave back. The tension got a little released. Some of them then started dancing. so I joined them in the dancing party. Just when it seemed everyone was going to live happily ever after, I pulled out my axe and started swinging. It took about about 30 seconds before they were all dead.
Maybe I'm wrong but I thought they were going to roll out a PVP system soon? I can't even imagine what it's going to be like with new cool downs for skills. I'm so used to teleporting around like crazy and spamming projectiles/chain locking. Imo, dueling is what made D2. It was also like a showcase of elite items and different builds that promoted trading and the making of a new char if you didn't have it already. Anyone else who just went around killing monsters for fun and completing quests was pretty much a noob.
Fight fire with fire. D2 was pretty well balance in that there was a counter for every character/build. Also, people usually carry around 'Bad Manner' gear in their stash (absorb, resis, etc) for these type of situations.
Yeah, they've said many times that PvP is the next big feature they want to include. Jay Wilson said that if PvP wasn't out by Christmas he'd consider it a major failure. http://www.business2community.com/t...-game-content-to-adjust-at-next-patch-0211820
I will try to recall from memory. Barb, 92xx armor, 8k damage, little under 800 str, 930 vat. Resist is maybe 600-700 before war cry. I use frenczy earthquake, charge, war cry and wrath of the berserker. My life is 37k. Never of steel, superstition and tough as nail. My weapon is weak 690 damage with 40% dam and 250 life on hit. I have about 100 life regen per second. I can find tons of rare but mostly all total junk. Oh I use shield with 24% block and 7% extra block. I think doge is maybe 13%?
Haven't played barb yet... but I'm pretty sure you need a serious weapon upgrade. 37k is more than enough for any act in inferno. You also need to spec more defensively. Acts 2-4 are a completely different ballgame. Pretty sure you need to have Revenge as an Oh S**t button.
God, I have no money, right now only 200k, that's not enough to sniff at a 800 dam 600 life per hit weapon. I only found one piece of good amor the whole game. it is a 330 71 resist all 80 strength 150 vital and 150 plus amor chest piece, the rest i all bought on the cheap (under 150k a piece on the auction) Forgot the mention I do have revenge!
I'm pretty sure you can do act3-4 naked as a barb with a certain spec, they're seriously broken. Go do some research.
A few suggestions to a fellow Barbarian... My gear is definitely a lot better than yours at this point, but even keeping a lot of the gear you have, I think you're not that far away from doing alright on act II. Two keys: 1) Stack 1000+ life on hit, if you haven't already. *Grind act 1 enough to get money for two rings that are minimum 150 life on hit, 30 strength, 30 vitality (use those values to search the auction house). These should cost you no more than 300k apiece. *Ditto for an amulet that's at least 300 life on hit, 50 strength, 50 vitality. Again, should cost no more than 300k. *Then get yourself a weapon with about 500 life on hit, and target 730-ish damage. This should cost about 500k. *So in the end you should have around 1100 or 1200 life on hit for about 1.5 million. If you find some good deals you could get them all for 1.0 million I'd say. 2) Go all-defensive with your skills. *War Cry, Frenzy, and Revenge are musts, and you already have those. *Instead of Earthquake, take Ignore Pain with the rune that increases duration to 7 seconds. This gives you a window of being essentially invulnerable for 7 seconds once per 30 seconds, which ends up being much more valuable than a damage ability you can use only once every 2 minutes. *Instead of Wrath of the Berserker, take Overpower with the Revel rune as an extra health-regenerating panic button... or, take Threatening Shout with the Falter rune to constantly reduce damage done to you. *Furious Charge is a good ability, but if you already have a bunch of Life on Hit and Revenge to recover yourself, to me it's better to have Leap with Iron Impact rune. If you use it as often as possible, in theory you have your armor boosted by 300% for about half the time, which keeps you from needing Furious Charge's health gain in the first place. What's more, you can leap over walls or lasers with it, which Furious Charge can't do. *To balance out all this defense, switch one of your passives out for Berserker Rage. Since this build uses no Fury at all, you will pretty much be getting the bonus almost constantly. That's about it. Stack some life on hit and adjust your skills and you should be good to go. My tag is Drex#1586 if you want help with a boss or anything.
So, I can't get past Ghom... and not even close. I figured I'd stack up on life regen, and that hasnt done anything. I have around 800loh, 1300 life/sec, and 900 resistance. still get punished. Any thoughts? Can someone invite me to a game in the next stage so i can just skip him? lol
