Rockets are making dumb moves by adding Jeremy Lin. Jeremy Lin is over rated big time. This guy gets turnovers more than Westbrook and is not even as efficient. Lin can't even play with other stars because he thinks he is the best player. As you saw he couldn't even get Melo the ball or Amare the ball. He hurt their chances to win after every team learned what lin can do and what he can not do. Dragic and Jeremy Lin had similar effects. Two weeks greatness, then no good after. Please pass.
Well all these teams that think they can afford it are heading towards the bubble bursting. Basically, being a contender now, is going to make owners bankrupt in 2 years. Morey is smart to set his sights on contending once that happens and be ready to move expiring guys like Lowry/Lin and Omer Asik for teams that desperately need to get under cap, or resign them with Bird rights if they emerge and the ability to go over cap and begin the luxury tax cycle at that point and contend for 2-3 years until we have to blow it up and go under cap again. I'm not a cap expert, but it seems to be really logical and straightforward. These teams can't maintain this kind of FA and contracts with the impending repeater tax, it will all be a bubble bursting for the teams over the cap now, and Morey is prepping for that (unless Dwight Howard or a superstar falls into our laps then we immediately build around that player). In 2014 when signing a player costs you 2-3 times more than other teams, like Houston, you will have to let your rookies that out-preform their contracts walk or eat $40 mil in luxury tax that's redistributed to other teams, like Houston if you didn't let us have your budding superstar. So sure, NYK can afford to match, but I'm assuming they have someone in their FO smarter than me advising them not to and that fielding a competitive team in NYC is the ONLY thing necessary to make big profits.
Fortunately for the Rockets, if Lin signs here, he won't have to ever worry about playing with other stars.
So these aren't bad signings right? So a starting 5 of lin, kmart, parsons, scola, and asik makes the playoffs? I think not, especially not when utah and minny will be improving...
sorry son i watched knicks game and he won the game most of the time for them. Getting mello the ball was the reason why they went on losing streak and when melo went out he stepped up bigtime. Amare got the ball plenty of times but he isnt a star anymore so dont act like he needs the ball. THey played great team ball while melo was out and lin running offense. He creates his own shoot, plays excellet D, and he has a good jumpshot. Rockets need something like that to draw in defenders instead of taking 3 pointers all damn game
Lin is too slow (this can't be fixed) Too turnover prone Injury plagued Too weak Showed he can't play without pringles offensive game plan And yet Mori wants to offer him what he offered Dragic? Has he lost his mind?!? Ok if you don't want to overpay dragic that's one thing. I can deal with that. Don't make matters worse by hamstringing us with a horrible Lin contract. I don't know Muarry anymore
Rockets fans are some of the most fairweather fans in NBA history. Most of you all were b****ing when we lost Jeremy Lin when the Knicks picked him up from us and found out that he was good, while we kept horrible Jonny Flynn. Now you all are b****ing because we are offering Lin big bucks to stay in Houston. Please stop crying. You all are putting Dwight Howard to shame.
Holy freaking cow.. As long as Lin isnt a henderence to this team his presence on the HOUSTON ROCKETS will SKY ROCKET this teams worth!! Imagine Dwight being rented for one year and realizing that more people watch his regular season games than they do the finals... The Chinese fans would be back and Dwight would have the #1 selling jersey in the world just like T-Mac.. Lin isnt as beloved as Yao.. But we're the unofficial team of China already and this signing would make us a Free Agent hot spot again just in time for the All-Star Game!! Id really like this to happen!!

Why does everyone forget all of Lin's turnovers... Clutch put it best, Dragic is just a better player than Lin.
Dolan will resign him and trade him later, perhaps to LA or GS. The kid is a marketing dream come true, and every owner saw how well Les made out with Yao. And this is why we ought to be bringing Dragic back for another sit down instead of chasing a NBA celebrity who the Knicks are almost certain to match.
Absolutely right! and if we don't get superstars it's a way to tank and get a top 5 or 3 pick next year...
Has a player ever gone from being cut to getting offered 30 million dollars by the same team within one year?
