I'll bit since everyone is on your ass. If we are tanking (looks like we will be whether or not we want to or not) why not let Les spend some money and have his cap high too and sign Oden? We would still be on pace to get a high draft pick and on the miniscual chance he heals up we win. In fact sign Brandon Roy to for the same reasons also.

Having cap space while in a tanking year doesn't make sense as any move we can make will make us 14th again in the lotto.

What center? We don't have one.

Plus with regards to Oden, I doubt his camp will agree to resign before Oden is healthy and ready to play. He already has enough pressure trying to get healthy to play. Plus his camp knows that they can get a better contract for him once he can you know walk around and actually play basketball.

Greg Oden No seriously hear me out.

Now 1st I'm not saying we should sign him he could be our center or anything like that. In all likely hood he will never play an NBA game again.

But this is a no risk all reward scenario.

If you sign Oden to a Non guarantee minimum contract with a injury buy out of say 15%. So there is no risk here if he gets hurt he is gone no loss, he doesn't play no loss.

Now if he was to play and not get hurt all reward. When he has played he wasn't terrible just got into foul trouble. Say he plays a season no serious injuries. His stock would go up around the league and you could flip him for something more secure or run with him as a role player if you choose to take the risk. If he played a season without a serious injury I guarantee you teams would make a run at him for 1 reason and 1 reason only. He is 7 ft tall and plays like it. You can't teach that. If he played a season free of serious injury there would be a team that takes the chance at giving him a 5-7 million dollar deal. Hell I would even bet there would be a team that offers a late 1st for him. You know that team that gets eliminated in the playoffs and thinks to themselves "if we only had a big man to pound down low for 20 minutes"

If I was a GM I would have to at least consider the idea. NO RISK all REWARD.

    Are all you guys clowns?

First, I would be for this move if he wasn't sitting out. When he does come back, simply giving him a minimum would be of no harm. We won't rely or count on him, but we'll give him an opportunity. In such a scenario, why the flying **** would we not do this?

    Give me one reason.
