A franchise changing move would be to fire Morey and change the design of the jerseys. Ironically the next GM will have superstars calling him lol
i'm not asking for franchise changing moves, just not joke moves that are clearly made to sell merchandise and apparel
Unfortunately, I don't see our jerseys going anywhere now with Lin... aren't they Asian inspired ? I imagine our Jersey sales will go up
With the roster as constructed Houston has no prayer of getting either of those guys unless it is via a trade.
Ah yes. Morey passed on Tyler for Cody to abide by the NBA's oft-forgotten "One Zeller per team" rule.
Doesn't make sense for NY to match our offer if we get Lin to resign with us. Unless they really want to play Steve Nash and Lin at the same time, definitely an undersized backcourt that'll get abused over the seasons and NY will screw themselves in the future. Either way the Houston Rockets are definitely sticking it to them
Why is everyone freaking out? If Lin signed this deal and CHI doesn't match, here is our team... Lowry / Lin K-Mart / Lamb Parsons / Morris / White Scola / PPat / Motiejunas / Jones Asik / Smith / Leuer Sky is falling? Really??? Are we Sacramento now? We have until the trade deadline to showcase players and force Kevin Martin and/or Scola on anyone who wants a piece of our young talent or Lowry. But Morey should resign? What? I do agree with this roster we are not a top 5 pick team without a trade, good point made above. I know it sounds like rinse & repeat, because that's what you do with a good strategy. Lin is a wildcard because he can continue our advertising contracts, bring greater revenue to Toyota Center and justify luxury tax to a businessman.
Chris Mannix @ChrisMannixSI Been assuming Knicks would match offers for Lin (off the court revenues he generates are huge). But Nash and Lin will skyrocket payroll......while gutting the roster (with FA's and sign and trades) at same time. Likely, still, but not a guarantee, especially if contract is bad
aka we will take our vitamins, but not the poison pill. If Jeremy Lin wants to be back in Houston, he is coming back to Houston.
Maybe Lin needs to be paired up with White and have him bring the ball up and distribute. Those lowlights were flat out ugly.
You haven't seen the Heat game. They defended him like he was CP3/DRose and he looked like a high schooler. Trust me, teams will know who Lin is next year.
