Highly powered offense no defense. Sounds like the Phoenix Suns

And they could, theoretically, send him to us still?

Wow at losing Shumpert though. He looked liked he could be the ultimate stopper at the 1/2 positions. Then again maybe he wouldn't be the same after surgery.

I doubt the Knicks can sign Nash AND retain Lin, but those two would be a very good combination. Nash can't play 40 mins/game and I'm not sold Lin is a legit full-time starting PG.

I don't think Lin is good in limited minutes. Look how he tailed off with Woodson as coach compared to D'Antoni. But that could also be due to teams finally knowing who Lin was.

And that PG tandem would challenge for the worst defensive PG tandem in the history of basketball.

So the Nicks with Nash, Carmelo and Amare..who is gonna play defense? Probably worse than Brooks, Martin and Scola.

I hope the Knicks get Nash. I think it'd make Toronto that much more desperate for a PG and that much more likely to trade for Lowry.

If Morey signs both Asik and Lin to $25 & $30 million contracts this summer, he will be fired during or after next season. I'm not convinced Lin will be an average starting PG over an 82-game season. Playing 20+ mins/game in tandem with Steve Nash would be the best situation for him IMO.

Or they simply overpay either Dragic or Lin. That would be the Raptors-ier move.

Yup, never thought Morey would ever overpay guys, esp. with how he operated during his tenure. Now he's overpaying guys 2-3x what they are actually worth.

Signing Asik to that deal is just as bad as Toronto signing Fields to his ridiculous contracts.

Not necessarily, Toronto, Dallas, and other potential team.

Yep they're going to screw themselves (NY) if they try to match the Rockets offer (considering Lin signs/resigns here). Definitely won't have much of a bench to work with and I can definitely tell you that Mike Woodson is going to be crying himself to see thinking about how badly NY is going to suffer defensively.. Lol Jarred Jefferies 6/7/8 person coming off the bench? WIN!!

The Knocks are really stupid. Trading an losing their young guys who make them a playoff team for a part time starter in Nash.

Yeah I agree you can't really gauge Lin's potential with such a small sample size from last year but that's the way it goes. If we sign both Asik and Lin to these contracts and they don't produce we'll just trade them sometime in the future.

There's a good chance both NY and Chicago both decide to match our offers and they'll put themselves in cap hell in a few years. All we have is speculation as fans, I'm sure Morey's done his homework on both players.

I'd trust Morey and his staff's evaluation over some of the posters on this board.
