Dragic is not worth $10 million. He's just not. Rajon Rando signed for $10 million. Eye on the prize? Dragic is not what stand between us and a Ring. Hell, he's probably the third best player on a championship team.
Honestly to me, if we are offering the same money, I don't care which one of the two accepts. You are talking about 2 guys who essentially played well for 2 months when asked to step up. They're stats are almost identical. Difference is Lin played in NY which can be brutal media wise, and Gogi played here where no one calls you out if you play like crap. Both excelled greatly. I tend to be more impressed by Lin who was able to do it in the NY atmosphere.
Exactly. It's a ridiculous argument. If you want to bring the Chinese audience back you would hire Yao as an assistant coach.
I agree with you Reeko, but you have to start somewhere, and to me he is the best PG available that wants to play in Houston. He is a building block, and it would be nice to have at least one of those guys on the team instead of a bunch of trading chips.
To be fair not all Chinese people hate Taiwanese people. It might attract the Chinese Youth and therefore Chinese companies will be forced to soon follow the trend.
In all honesty neither Dragic or Lin are worth the money they are going to get. But thats the way the league operates. So all being equal I would overpay Lin because he is cheaper and younger plus he brings in money while we are rebuilding. Nobody is paying to see Goran Dragic people will pay to see Lin. Its that simple really. You take 2 players that have proved the exact same thing in their career offer the same contract see who accepts. Looks like Dragic said no and Lin might say yes. Its just business.
Linsanity happened because Lin played in New York. Do you honestly believe that Lin would attract this type of media attention if he played in Houston? Why are we overspending on PG when we already have a good one in Lowry?
So, I feel pretty confident our starting five is going to be: Lin Lamb Parsons Whoever wins battle of the PFs after Scola is traded (I hope Moti) Asik
Yes, it will expand in Houston as well. We're not overspending, he's just replacing Dragic with more attention.
I'm waiting till the season starts and everyone could see what lin is not worth this much money, nba made a star from nothing.
Eric Koreen: As for Lowry: They'd have to wait to see how things shake out now with Dragic, Lin, etc. HOU has more important things to worry about now. about 7 minutes ago Read more: http://hoopshype.com/twitter/media.html#ixzz1zfuiKJpq
