NO will match anyway, doesn't matter what team offered him the contract.

Since Morey has trouble luring free agents, it becomes even more important to rebuild through the draft.

Wouldn't it be funny if the Suns end up with Dragic & Gordon, a backcourt the Rockets were looking for :) I think NO will match, and we can still do a S&T involving Martin.

obviously if he didn't offer him the max , then we weren't really that interested.

I think you need to take your calculator out and punch in the numbers again.

James and Bosh are going to be averaging about 20 million a year for the next 4 years.

Durant will be averaging just under 20 million a year for the next 4 years.

Rose signed a 5 year extension for 95 million last December.

Last I checked, 4 years @ 58 million is much cheaper than any of the guys you mentioned.

Championship teams cannot be built with calculators.

Not sure why some people are so upset. Have you never got turned down by a hot chick?

Seriously, there were like a million teams interested in Gordon. The Rockets chances of ending up with him were slim to none from the beginning and if we would have ended up with and it would have been through sign&trade, where we probably would have been forced to overpay.

I have little doubt that some of you guys would have had voiced your displeasure either way. I guess some people just have to complain about something.

He doesn't have good lift. He has good body control. An athletic freak? I think not. He's Steve Francis without the hops but better shooting.
I honestly don't pay max to an injury prone tweener guard. Nor would I give up our young talent for him.

But if NO matches they can no longer sign and trade EG. So he's definitely out of the picture.

Freak athlete - yes. Injury-prone - yes. That being said I'd of still liked him on this team.

I think the point of the sign and trade was NO can get something out of it instead of losing him for nothing. Rockets would have been able to get rid of some guys like Martin and a PF or two.

I think Gordon knew he NO was gonna resign him. They told him they will match almost any deal he gets. So he went out to find the biggest contract he can find.

Maybe BimaThug can confirm, but couldn't NO simply match the PHX offer, then sign and trade Gordon to any team besides the Suns. Considering we have more desirable pieces for the Hornets than the Suns currently have, couldn't NO do the same thing we're doing with Asik and construct a trade before July 11 when things are officially signed?
