    http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/draft/future_drafts/detailed

2013 first round draft pick from Houston
Houston's own 2013 1st round pick to Brooklyn (top 14 protected in 2013, top 14 protected in 2014, top 14 protected in 2015 and top 14 protected in the 2016 Draft). If Brooklyn does not receive a 1st round pick from Houston by the 2016 Draft, then Houston will convey their own 2017 2nd round pick and cash to Brooklyn. [Brooklyn- Houston - Los Angeles Lakers, 12/15/2010]

    We have:
2013 first round draft pick from Dallas
Dallas' own 2013 first round draft pick to Houston via the L.A. Lakers ( top 20 protected in 2013, top 20 protected in 2014, top 20 protected in 2015, top 20 protected in 2016, top 20 protected in 2017 and unprotected in the 2018 Draft). [Dallas - L.A. Lakers, 12/11/2011 and then Houston-L.A. Lakers 3/15/2012]

2015 second round draft pick from L.A. Clippers
The L.A. Clippers' own 2015 2nd round pick to Houston via Toronto (if pick is 51 - 55). If the L.A. Clippers' own 2015 2nd round pick is not among the 51st through 55th picks, then the L.A. Clippers' obligations to Houston shall be extinguished. [L.A. Clippers - Toronto, 1/7/2009 and then Houston - Toronto, 7/28/2010]

    We owe...

2013 first round draft pick to Brooklyn
Houston's own 2013 1st round pick to Brooklyn (top 14 protected in 2013, top 14 protected in 2014, top 14 protected in 2015 and top 14 protected in the 2016 Draft). If Brooklyn does not receive a 1st round pick from Houston by the 2016 Draft, then Houston will convey their own 2017 2nd round pick and cash to Brooklyn. [Brooklyn- Houston - Los Angeles Lakers, 12/15/2010]

2013 second round draft pick to Atlanta
Houston's own 2013 2nd round pick to Atlanta (Top-40 protected in the 2013 Draft, top-40 protected in 2014, top-40 protected in 2015 and unprotected in the 2016 Draft.) [Atlanta - Houston, 7/14/2009]

2014 second round draft pick to Milwaukee
Houston own 2nd round pick to Milwaukee in the "First Allowable Draft". The First Allowable draft shall be the draft that occurs one year following the year in which Houston satisfies its existing obligation to convey a future second round draft pick to the Atlanta Hawks (Top-40 protected in the 2013 Draft, top-40 protected in 2014, top-40 protected in 2015 and unprotected in the 2016 Draft) and shall occur no later than the 2017 Draft. [Houston-Milwaukee, 6/27/2012]

We traded it to New Jersey for TWill. New Jersey sent the pick to Atlanta as part of the Joe Johnson trade.

Traded it to NJ for TWill, and they just traded it to ATL as part of the Joe Johnson trade, but yes it is lottery protected.

It now belongs to Atlanta since the Nets included it in the Joe Johnson trade. It is top 14 protected.

So, if I'm reading this right, we have no first round pick unless the Mavs make it to at least the second round, AND the Nets make the playoffs.

    Well...****.

Close. If we make the playoffs and the Mavs don't finish in the top 10 then we won't have a pick.

If we're in the lottery we keep our pick, but tanking is never a guarantee for anything. Just ask Michael Jordan & the Cats.
