    40 millions for Lin? Morey has lost it after years of chasing after superstars.

    Which is why I question Morey doing it.
    Although if Morey lowballs and Lin accepts, then Knicks get Lin for cheap.
    If that were the case, and if Lin truly is overvalued why doesn't Morey just let some other team screw the Knicks instead of screwing our salary cap situation?

    Oh well. If we get Lin, I'll be happy. If we don't, I'll be happy.
    Win-Win. :grin:

    No, because the contract is averaged over all the years by the team that signs him, but the team that matches has to take each year seperatly.

    I'm looking forward to the first give and go when Bill Worell has to say Jeremy Lin to Jeremy Lamb to Jeremy Lin five times fast.

    if you sign lin and asik to the same contract that means in the 3rd year together they will both make 23 mill combined.

    But not against the cap and that's all that really matters. It's actually favorable for the rockets to defer payments to the last years fr several reasons.

    For the Rockets to maintain their Strength at the PG position, they will need to have either Lin, Dragon, or Lowry as a starter, along with a borderline All-Star backup (I don't know if Boykins, Livingston, Fortson, or White will be sufficient) however I am confident that Ish "Da Dish" Smith would be :cool:

    It appears that Lowry still does not want to play under Coach McHale or as a non starter. It also appears that Dragon only wants to play as a starter. Considering how unselfish Lin is, I think Lin would be willing to play backup to either Dragon or Lowry. Or slide Lin to SG depending on matchups as McHale did with Dragon.

    As a starter, Lowry & Dragon played like All-Stars and possibly Supa-Stars.

    As a starter, Lin initially played like The GOAT (Greatest of All-Time).

    "Lin became the first NBA player to score at least 20 points and have seven assists in each of his first five starts.[134] Lin scored 89, 109, and 136 points in his first three, four, and five career starts, respectively, all three of which are the most by any player since the merger between the American Basketball Association (ABA) and the NBA in 1976–77."[130][135][136]

    New York had a 7–0 record after Lin started receiving major playing time, 6–0 with him starting.[138]

    Like the Rox, I also thought Lin was a good player with potential from his college ball, summer league, and preseason play. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that he really is a Special Player and Person :)

    "Players playing that well don't usually come out of nowhere. It seems like they come out of nowhere, but if you can go back and take a look, his skill level was probably there from the beginning. It probably just went unnoticed. —Kobe Bryant, after Lin scored 38 points on February 10, 2012." [125]

    </sup>
    "I haven't done a computation, but it's fair to say that no player has created the interest and the frenzy in this short period of time, in any sport, that I'm aware of like Jeremy Lin has," said NBA commissioner David Stern.[213]

    His popularity was attributed with growing the NBA's popularity there since Yao Ming's retirement in the offseason; the audience for NBA games on television and online in China rose 39 percent over the previous season.[218]
    </sup>
    The Knicks' success due to Lin's play reportedly contributed to the end of a dispute which had for 48 days prevented Time Warner Cable customers from watching Knicks games and other MSG Network programs.[214]

    Despite his sudden fame
    Sacramento Kings coach Keith Smart stated, “I knew [Lin] before he was Linmania. He’s still the same humble guy. The guy has not changed a bit, which is real special for a young man.”[228]

    He credited his NBA success to playing without pressure. "I've surrendered that to God. I'm not in a battle with what everybody else thinks anymore," said Lin.

    I think Lin would be willing to if he was traded here or had someone outplay him while he was injured, but he will not sign a new contract with the view to being the back-up.

    Yeah I really don't see us signing Lin just as a back up. Could possibly be a great signing if we could move Lowry but really depends on how Nash's situation pans out. If we do decide to back load Lin's contract it'll be interesting how much money we'll have devoted to players in the next coming years. I'm sure Bimathug will have it all crunched out if and when the signings happen.

    Wouldn't mind having Lin on the team, he would be pretty exciting to watch but not sure if Coach Mchale would give him free reigns to do what he wants, will definitely be interesting to see how this team will look on or after July 11.

    Would you care to explain what you mean by 'But not against the cap?' Sorry, I'm not as familiar with cap rules as I wish I was. Trying to learn! Thank you!

    If they get Lin

    there's NO chance the Rockets change up the suspiciously China red Asian themed uniform.

    And why not just bring back Lowry as starter anyway. Forget Dragic and Lin
