Making the playoffs when the option is between back end of the lottery (#13-14) or low seed in the playoffs is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS the right choice. It brings in a ton of money for the franchise and gets the fans fired up and increases the value of your players while giving them playoff experience. It makes your team a more attractive option for free agents. Tanking is one thing--tanking for a pick in the 10-14 range is r****ded.
Lee is a good enough player to be a contributor(as a bench player) on a championship caliber team, you atleast keep the option to match if its a good deal.
Well, I'm sad to see Lee go. Best of luck to him. Hopefully we are doing something else with the money we will no longer invest on him.
Rockets have way to many assets at the moment. I think its better for Lee anyways as he can get better offers and move on. I suspect the Bulls will take him and forget about Asik
I like Lee. He is eminently replaceable. Shannon Brown, perhaps, if Gordon does not arrive on the express train?
This certainly puts the Bulls in a dilemma if they want Lee. Lee or Asik? (Was that morey's plan all along?)
As much as it sucks to lose a quality player like Lee, it clears space for Lamb who has much higher upside. I like the move, but it hurts at the same time.
Did not see this coming. I'd hope a trade is in works for tonight or something. Why else would you do that besides the fact he has a cap hold? Is his cap hold limiting us to do a trade? Ouch.
Daryl Morey has been an abortion of a General Manager. A complete, and total abject failure. I REALLY miss CD.
