The media refuses to mention the Rockets( i think someone in Dwight's circle is paying them too keep Houston out of their mouths). The media keeps beating a deadhorse talking about the Lakers and Mavs. But its clear that Jim Buss wont give up Bynum, and the Mavs have nothing for the Magic.

Luxury tax is coming to hunt the Nets. To be honest we really got a shot to acquire Howard with Martin and Scola be on the trade package! Howard you know you are being blackmailed and Houston will be your new playing ground!!!!

This will end just like all of Morey's other superstar chases. Since his back is a big???????, that may be the best thing. The worst thing that could happen out of this is we sign him long term and lose him to back problems sorta like Yao and his foot. I can tell you from experience, he will never be quite the same after back surgery. The only way I would trade for him is at the deadline next year and seeing that he is 100% post back surgery.

I really don't think so. We could have had Amare if we gambled on him leaving. We had Gasol but Basketball Reasons. None of that is standing in the way this time, plus we have an excellent cap situation and tons of assets.

If we do get him, I hope he is HEALTHY and doesn't continue the circus next year trying to force his way to Brooklyn.

Morey is simply a loser when it comes to aquiring superstars... Other than that he is a successful individual

It appears Deron has committed to the Nets. This does not bode well for Dwight coming to Houston. All the more reason for him to sign an extension and stay put in Orlando now.

We are in the Twilight Zone. Something needs to happen.....soon. Dwight doesn't have the Nets option anymore. And now he doesn't have the option of playing with Deron. Now, I'm thinking he may get word to the Clippers through CP3 and they enter the bidding with Blake/Deandre. If that happens, it's over. He'll be a Clipper. And the Clippers make a lot of sense regarding Dwight's desire to build a legacy. In my opinion, they just moved to the front of the line for acquiring Dwight............if they want him.

Didn't the Clippers just extend Griffin? What are the rules about trading a player thats recently signed a contract?

What if we attempted to sign Nash to a hefty contract over 3 years...do you think that would entice Howard to want to come to Houston? Me thinks it would. This is assuming, of course, that we didn't sign either Gogi or J-Lin. Damn that would be so ****ing sick to see Nash throwing oops to D12.

the truth is that it is in the best interest for Orlando to continue to create a buzz about how so many teams still have a chance to aquire Howard (Nets, Mavs, Lakers). They are trying to entice them all to believe they are close so they can have them bid against each other. They don't really care so much about Houston because we have already gone out of our way to show how much we want Howard and how much we are willing to risk. The Orlando GM is trying to see if someone will blink and go that extra mile for Howard.

He is playing the game and walking a fine line. Because even though I agree that he should take his time and go over all the options and play the game. I also believe he could take too much time, if he doesn't strike at the right moment sooner or later all the teams are going to get tired of him and the strategy could back fire on him. I wonder if he already didn't take too long. Look at how the Nets have seemingly moved on from Dwight, to a lesser extent Rockets in creating news about the offer to Asik. Maybe, he should have done the trade before the draft.

In any case, Orlando knows what they can get from the Rockets and are trying to get everyone to raise, and if Morey is dumb enough including the Rockets.

Yes, they have "agreed" to an extension. But nothing has actually been signed yet. We haven't signed Asik to an offer sheet. The Joe Johnson trade hasn't happened. Nothing has actually happened. Can't happen for another week. And I have a funny feeling some of these "agreements" are going to get unwound when the Dwight trade does or doesn't go through. That's why it's the Twilight Zone. There's been all these gentlemen's handshake agreements made. But no ink on paper. It could get really tricky in a week.

The bottom line right now is Dragic is the best PG on the market. Let me say that again, DRAGIC IS THE BEST PG ON THE MARKET. And he's an UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENT. That means he doesn't have to come back to us. Morey needs to secure an agreement with him NOW before the Mavs throw $50 million at him and get him to agree.

It's already been mentioned. Sterling won't trade Griffin for Howard. That dumb cheapass after all wants to save money because Griffin still will have one more cheap year.

The Clippers are a nonstarter. It's a battle between us and the Lakers now. No one else.

Only if they need to trade Lowry for Howard. Otherwise, we have a PG.

Lin also is another potential answer. Not time to panic....yet.

BUT Orlando needs to get off their ass and decide. Morey needs to put a deadline for when his offer expires. We can't be held hostage anymore.

I personally feel that Howard will be traded at the deadline in February. I hope the Magic get screwed if thats the case.

Yeah, like these guys never change their mind. And that was in a different paradigm during the Twilight Zone. That was when Brooklyn and Deron were still players for Dwight and Dwight was refusing to commit to sign an extension. Now, we are out of that zone and into an entirely new dimension. We are in the post Deron/Brooklyn dimension. What does Dwight want now? Well, he wants to play with CP3, he wants to build an original legacy, and he wants to win rings. Mark my words, he's probably on the phone with CP3 right now telling him he'll re-sign with the Clippers if they trade for him and CP3 re-signs with them. And that changes everything. Besides, a Dwight trade with the Clipper will ahve to involve both Deandre and Blake. And a Dwight/CP3 tandem along with Odom make them a primo, and I mean a primo, team in the West. Sterling will most likely be very interested in that scenario.

The Clips are NOT offering Blake for Howard and they don't have anything else good enough. Unless Bynum is offered by the Lakers (a HUGE 'if') we are the front runners in terms of the quality of package we can offer. I'm sure Orlando would also rather deal with a team in our conference.

    You seriously overestimate Sterling.

You are seriously underestimating the NBA. I know Sterling's history as well as anyone. He's in a position now that he's never been in before. He's in a position to build a team that can punk the Lakers for the next decade. That changes people. Just watch and see if you start hearing junk about Dwight wanting to play for the Clips now.
