I would not be inclined to do so - it's an obvious stereoconversion: actors look like viewfinder cutouts, only the CGI SFX are "true" 3D (webbing, etc). But maybe those that have already seen it have a better perspective.
Anybody know who their were hinting as the next villian in the sequal. The end credits didn't really say anything.
way better than any of the first 3, Garfield is a much more believable character than McGuire. Really liked how he actually used his webbing to do a lot of his attacks. In the end i give it a 7 and was left wanting a bit more, but it is a comic book movie & not supposed to be like Dark Knight I suppose.
I still can't grasp the fact that people are claiming its better than the first 2. I guess I'll see tomorrow.
The action was better and so was the viewpoint when gliding through the city. The first one felt fake to me in those terms, but that's just a feel thing. As for the storyline and acting, the first 2 were better. Some stupid crap that bothered me...I know, it's a movie, but jeebus, can writers/directors try just a little harder.. Spoiler The catalyst that led to Peter's uncle dying was stupid. What freaking mini mart cashier would go chasing a thief who snatched like $40 from the cash register and had a 30 second head start? They could have done something better. Then the crook trips and the gun falls out. What idiotic old man would grab for the gun from twice the distance as a crook on the ground? And why the hell did Peter go back to school the next day or so? Who the hell does that?
The viewpoint of Spidey gliding through the city is better than the first three films? What? Maaaaan, I think a lot of people have the "what have you done for me lately" syndrome. Or in this case, "what movie came out last is better". I can't for the life of me see how the not-so-Amazing Spider-man movie measures up to the first two. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/aP_a90UvUGI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> ^Just look at how epic that is, man. The score, the cinematography, the dialogue... Just way better.
Saw it last night as well. 7/10 IMO. Certainly better then Spider-Man 3, which was just a cluster**** of a movie, with too many clashing ideas. Doesn't hold a candle to the first two, however. Magical films. Still a good movie, however. Liked Garfield's take on Spider-Man a lot; not so much Parker. I didn't know Garfield is older than McGuire was when he first donned the mask. Otherwise, didn't feel like other characters were quite as developed or their relationships fleshed out. Enjoyed Lizard as first choice of villain, but felt his design and character were lackluster. Can't shake feeling that I'd seen some of the film before, but I suppose that can't be helped since it is a origin story. It's been 10 years since SM, surely they could've done something differently. My Rankings Spider-Man 2 > Spider-Man >> The Amazing Spider-Man >>> Spiderman 3
Just my opinion, but yeah. I felt like the first movies in terms of action, were more PG than PG-13. This one felt more violent, and the 3D imax helped imo. Also, the gliding in the first one felt too fast. The skills learning sequence in this one was way better. As for the score and dialogue sure, I'll give it to the first two. As I said, this new one pretty much sucks. The only good things about it are the 1st person gliding sequences and the action.
I never enjoyed the first 2 spiderman movies mostly because of my disdain for Mcguire playing spiderman, I could never buy him as peter parker and it ruined those movies for me. I really believe Garfield and though there seems to be a cheesy quality between all 4 movies in terms of plot and dialogue, I do like the action scenes in this spiderman way better. All in all I think the first 2 and this one are about the same, though I'll give the most recent the slight edge.
I saw this tonight. I didn't like how they went away from the original origin but it didn't bother me too much. I like this movie, I really did. I thought there was some good chemistry between Emma and Andrew. What I didn't like was the whole Spider Man is a vigilante lets arrest him angle. Was it like that in the comics/cartoon? I can't quite remember. It just reminded me too much of Batman along with the main plot of the movie. Although I did enjoy it, it did not feel original and exciting like the first 2 movies did. I'd give it a solid 7.5/10. The post credit scene did leave me curious to how they'll approach the sequel's story in regards to his parents.
