Let's put it this way I think Jeremy Lin will end up being a better player than Dragic. I guess ideally we'd wait 5 years (large enough sample size) but since we're all about instant gratification we'll just make it 1 year. So I'm predicting the general fan consensus after next season will be that Jeremy Lin is better than Goran Dragic.

Fully prepared to be wrong about this and admit it when I come back here in 1 year.

I wonder if the Rockets really love Jeremy Lin or are they just big fans of trolling other teams with back-loaded Arenas Rule contracts?

The Rockets are not going to offer Lin anything over 5 million a year. Count it.

I think Lin has upside and he plays well within a system.

Overall, I don't think it would hurt if he joined the Rockets. He would definitely sell tickets.

No way we give out two poison pill contacts. We would be paying close to $30 million in 2014 for just Asik and Lin. Hello luxury tax hell.

Westbrook averaged 27 points and just 2.2 TO against that team in NBA finals. So good point guards can score against them, if they are good.

    http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=320211016

    8-24(33%)FG, 6 TO

They defend him by making him go left. I guess Minnesota is also top defensive team, even though they were just 22th in defensive efficency.

I agree, arguably top 10, lower half, if he pans out. Top 15, very easy.

    NO order within the groups
    Elites (7):

    Paul
    Rondo
    Parker
    D.Williams
    (Rose) - Injured
    Westbrook
    Nash

    Very Good (5):
    K.Irving
    T.Lawson
Lowry/Dragic (to make some of the members of the board feel validated)
Billups (he's lost a step, but is still quality point guard)

    Good range of quality starters:

    Conley Jr.
    Wall
    Jennings
    Rubio
    A.Miller
    J.Bayless
    Jack
    Teague
    Collison
    Teague
    Kidd
    Harris
    Felton

I really want to ask this question, outside defense, rebounding, and 3 point shooting what things do Lowry best Lin at in all honesty?

Lin would be all about marketing...but that is not what the Rockets are gonna need. They need players that actually work...besides, lin is way to careless with the rock...

You clearly don't understand how it works. For us, it's $16 million for the two of them the third year, salary cap-wise. That's why it's such a brilliant idea.

Steals are actually an overrated defensive stat. Someone can get a high steal total by gambling a lot, which in turn leaves them out of position for an easy drive for a score or break down the defense.

Not saying I agree with the statement that Lin is a bad defender though.

Why are you comparing Westbrook, a max player, with Jeremy Lin?
NO **** he's not as good as Westbrook you moron.
If Jeremy Lin is "so bad" then why are you holding him to expectations like that?

Because this isn't accurate basketball analysis, this is just pure hatred. Its like he boned your mom or something.

Gogi is a better on the ball defender...mind you he kept frustrating Westbrook in the games we had against OKC

Why not just keep Lowry, and forget about Lin/Dragic?

Seems like Morey will/must use Lowry in a trade.

I think Lin is worth what Lee is asking for, Lee is worth what people think Lin is worth, Dragic is worth what Lin is being offered, and Nash is worth what Dragic wants.

Are you implying Lin doesn't work? Cause I'd say he's worked pretty damn hard in just a few years as a pro.

But yeah, he is turnover prone, but that that goes with inexperience.

Also... NY is apparently still chasing a S&T deal for Nash, at about $10M/year. Might make a matching of Lin less likely, or at least even more expensive, than it otherwise would be.

You people are going WAY overboard with how much the Rockets are going to offer Lin. There is not way we let Gogi walk for $8-10 m/yr and then sign Lin to $6-7 m/yr.

The younger Lin is already better than Dragic last year. He's got higher PER both during their respective hot stretches and cold stretches. He played good defense.

His ability to create his own shots and draw fouls in clutch time is invaluable.

Not many players are asked to play 40 minutes per game after sitting on the bench playing no minutes at all. Turnover problems can be fixed.
