    At this point, I'd be 100% ok with a Lowry - Lee/Lamb - Parsons - Patterson - Asik lineup.

That team would at least be very, very solid defensively. They would struggle offensively, but I can live with that.

At least this way the Rockets can give the young guys some good PT.

If Rockets get Lin, all the Yao's fans are coming back again lol. But there is no way they're getting Lin unless they give him a poison pill contract which some think the Raptors are going to do if they can't get Nash. A poison pill contract is around $10/yr. Of course a player like Lin would not be worth that much but as owner, you invest in player that put fans in the seats and generate revenue from all over the world and a player like Lin can do that for you. If Rockets offer Lin 6/7 or even 8 million....Knicks will match! I am sure of that.

Thank you. People need to stop. Why would Lin even consider coming here to be a backup when he could start for numerous other teams.

Tricky situation money wise. If BimaThug was right about renouncing Lee and one of the minimum guys for Asik, the Rockets would need to create more cap.

Presumably, the Rockets would start by rescinding the cap hold on Dragic, but that's only 4 million. They could waive Livingston to clear another 2.5m, and waive another one of the minimum guys for another 750k or so.

That would give the Rockets about 7.5m in capspace. With that, they could offer a 3 year deal for 22.5 million, or a 4 year deal for 30 million.

    In a 3 year deal, it'd go:
    Year 1: 5m
    Year 2: 5.2m
    Year 3: 12.3m

    In a 4 year deal, it'd go:
    Year 1: 5m
    Year 2: 5.2m
    Year 3: ~9.9m
    Year 4: ~9.9m

Lin has holes in his game, it goes without saying. But he's a 2nd year guy with only really 1/2 season worth of regular NBA minutes. So, it's not like he doesn't have the chance to fix things.

My guess is that they offer him the "Omer Asik Special" of 3 year, $25.1 M contract with the poison pill 3rd year. The Knicks have plenty of money to match, pay Lin as well as heavy tax on him, but it's really gonna be a lot of $. They are already committed to pay 3 guys (Melo, Amare, Chandler) $62M among them in year 3. Lin's contract would make it $77M(!) on 4 players, which is kind of insane.

Please stop man. There are better ways to practice your lin hate than to extol the virtues of a career 38% fg pg who plays 15 minutes a game.

For those of you doubting Jeremy Lin's shooting,

    eFG% on jumpers:
    Lin .469
    Lowry .458
    Dragic .449

Knicks will definitely match those deals. They make more money than like every other team, no sweat for them.

Good news for the Rockets, so sad for Le$.

Not to mention against a top notch defensive PG and a top notch defensive team. Let's also not forget the "pact" the Heat players made before the game to lock Lin down and prevent him for scoring at all.

He got a lot of hype, but that also comes with a lot of hate from other players that just want to bring him down. No doubt every team was playing harder against him and taking shots at him.

My guess is that the Rockets will offer Lin around 6/7 or even 8millions and see if the Knicks take him back.

    Someone says:
"If the rockets really wanted to go all in and sign Lin they would fly Yao over here and convince him to sign."

I am sure one of the reason Lin is talking to the Rockets now is because his buddy Yao is talking him into it. The question is......is Alexander willing to offer him a big contract to rip the benefit like Yao did to the organization or just slightly overpay and see if the Knicks can match it.

Even the Knicks know that Lin isn't worth that much money. They're not going to do it lmao.

Well how was Lin's surgery? Is he going to be able to coming back 100% Is there a higher chance he'l get re-injured? Whats the chances he'l continue his roll he had last year (lin-sanity) on the rockets? Its sketchy man. He only started 25 games, then got a major injury was out for end of season and play-offs and he's so young. So many possibility's for his come back to be really tough. So for him to be our starting pg..is just sketchy. I love him though, he's a great player and i'm hoping for the best situation out of this.

I mean, I'd really, REALLY would like the Rockets to re-sign Gogi, but if not, I'm all for offering Lin.
