Lin is #10 on that list, and he played excellant defense which PER undervalues. He's the one worth 10 million+, based on his age and potential let alone he's already top10 level PG.

Lin neeeds to run pick and roll. That is all McHale runs. I hate the 'Linsanity' hype from last year, but this would be a good fit for Lin.

Dragic and Lin are basically the same so either one will do.

Pick and roll is the only offense McHale knows how to run. LOL.

Morey is creating leverage in the Dragic negotiation.

As for Lin, I think he is probably worth the MLE or maybe a little more.

What I worry if we do get Lin is that this board would be going back to the Yao days with YOF vs YOH vs the world.

I have serious doubts about Lin's ability to sustain his level of play last year. I feel pretty good about Dragic sustaining and improving his play.

It's funny most people aren't mentioning that. He's been a shooting guard for most of his basketball career up until last year. He was converted to a point guard, it's funny that we should leave that out right. It's also funny that I cannot find these 20 or 30 point guards who average 20 ppg and 8 assists in one month of NBA action.

Again, outside of the elite 5 or 8 point guards, there's not very many players who can run an offense as well as Lin did. If they can, I'm sure they have other flaws.

People are bashing Lin's shooting ability, yet he's better than (or at worst on par with) say Lowry, Rubio, Jameer Nelson, Conley, Collison, Jennings, Sessions, Felton, and others when it comes to mid range shooting ability. This crap about him being a bad shooter is non sense. There are some bad shooting starting point guards who are incredibly inefficient at scoring and are poor distributors. He's not one of them.

It's also weird alot of players I named, you couldn't dream of them carrying an offensive load on a bad team, outside of maybe Jennings. These guys aren't going to score alot of points.

It's about time for you to go join your brethren for the 4th of July.

If the endgame is to replace martin and turn lin into a combo scoring sg then ok i can at least see the logic. If its to bring him in to supplant dragic and lowry...just no.

Its inevitably going to start no matter what PG we sign.
Because Dragic is going to have a SINGLE good game in Phoenix or something.

And somebody will start a thread saying:
"Fire Morey. Kill Lin. Kill Lowry. Wow What a bunch of scrubs. Dragic is future hall of famer."

Joke right? I would probably cut it at Chauncy Billups (a bit old and injury prone nowadays), and definitely at Jose Calderon (amnesty candidate my friend)

Lin is bad defender. He can get steals, but he is very bad defender.

Maynor is elite floor general, who can shoot the ball, drive. Thunder bench production fell from 35 PPG to 22 PPG when Maynor got injured. He is RFA now.

I actually like Lin as much as Dragic. I just worried if he is able to continue to drive to the basket as much as he does without getting injured. Dude is fearless.

    http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/sto...n-visit-houston-rockets-wednesday-sources-say

New York Knicks restricted free agent Jeremy Lin will visit the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, sources said.

While both Lin and the Knicks are hoping for a reunion, sources have said that if any clubs offer Lin, a restricted free agent, a backloaded contract that pays him an eight-figure salary in the third and fourth years, the Knicks could be hesitant to match the offer.

With the new collective bargaining agreement employing a more punitive luxury tax beginning in the 2013-14 season, the Knicks are extremely concerned about the financial ramifications of such a deal.

The Knicks can offer Lin a four-year deal worth $24.5 million. But an opposing team can offer Lin a poison pill that could go as high as $40 million over four years. Such a contract would pay Lin $5 million in each of the first two years and then go as high as $15 million in each of the last two years.

Matching such a contract would give the Knicks four players -- Lin, Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler -- making more than $14 million in the 2014-2015 season. Those four players alone would have a combined salary of $72 million, nearly $2 million above the luxury tax.

While it may be doubtful that a club goes as high as $15 million in a season for Lin, even if one offered Lin roughly $10 million in the third and fourth years of a contract, the Knicks would be cautious about matching, according to a source.

The Toronto Raptors, Dallas Mavericks and Brooklyn Nets have all expressed interest in Lin, according to sources, though he is a backup plan for each of the clubs.

The Knicks have said they plan to let the market dictate Lin's value, so they have not offered him a contract yet. With the ability to match any offer he receives, they plan to wait and see what Lin commands as a free agent.

    http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterocke...estricted-free-agent-jeremy-lin-on-wednesday/

The Rockets on Wednesday will seek to replace one point guard that got away with another.

A day after Goran Dragic turned down the Rockets offer to return to Houston, the Rockets set up a meeting on Wednesday in Houston with Knicks’ restricted free agent Jeremy Lin, whom the Rockets released in December after a brief time with the team during training camp, a person with knowledge of the plans said Tuesday.

The Rockets waived Lin in part because there would be little chance of playing time for Lin with Kyle Lowry and Dragic at the position, and Jonny Flynn under contract. Lin became a sensation with the Knicks for a month of stellar play, especially while Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire were out. Dragic had a similar run late in the season when Lowry was out.

In 25 games as a starter last season, Lin averaged 18.2 points and 7.7 assists, making 44.5 percent of his shots. When Dragic started for 28 games with the Rockets, he averaged 18 points and 8.4 assists, making 49 percent of his shots.

As with the Rockets agreement with Omer Asik, they could only sign Lin to an offer sheet, and would have to wait up to three days to know if the Knicks would choose to match. According to a person familiar with the Rockets plans, they would offer a contract similar to the deal that Dragic turned down.
