Landry Fields agrees to 3-year deal with Raptors. Asik-like spike makes it tough for Knicks to match. Also, this deal seems to have killed any chance at Nash to NYK

Knicks getting Steve Nash in sign-and-trade was "on life support" before, source says. It delights me to see the Knicks floundering, especially after all the **** I hear about our team sucking. The first time they play the Nets should be fun. Knicks will have no one to stop the Johnson-Williams backcourt and will rely on Melo,Amare, and Chandler to score 110 points to win.
The Raptors will probably be playing him at the 3. I still don't understand that pick, they really should have traded it for a veteran 3.
This just makes the Terrence Ross pick even more of a head-scratcher. Why didn't the Raptors just trade that pick??
I'm sure Morey is better than anybody in that Toronto FO. I don't know if anyone else would give Fields this much money for 3 years.
Morey showed everyone else hows its done to get the rfa player you want... morey schooling other gms... now they be jockin his style...
No, this was a really clever cockblock by Colangelo to mess up the Knicks' ability to land Nash. The amount they're overpaying Landry with should be written off as part of the cost of landing Nash. Nash to Toronto is basically a done deal now, I think. Once again, Amare's contract is allowing the Knicks to get completely exploited: 1) losing Nash, 2) losing Lin or having to pay much more for him, 3) lose Fields, not that he's a big loss, and 4) not being able to land anyone of significance in free agency.
I think this is a blessing in disguise for that team. Now Carmelo can take fifty shots a game!
It's not only Amare's contract, but Melo and Chandler too. No young up and coming players will want to go/stay in NY because they can get paid substantially more elsewhere.
