Because I don't think Morey will "Asik" his deal. Watch, Morey doesn't really want Lin. He wants to make Dragic to be afraid to walk away from $8 million. nicks will match and Dragic will sign.

    No to Lin.

If Dragic is gone the Rockets need to fire McHale and give Lowry and iPad.

One thing which would make me more happy with this signing, would be if we traded all our veterans. Building around Lin, Asik, Motiejunas, Lamb, White... and whatever we get for Lowry/Martin/Scola... pretty decent amount of upside there I guess.

I think I would be okay with Houston signing Lin to an offer sheet. I expect the Knicks would match, so you would really hurt the Knicks with the right offer. If they don't match, then Les has his marketing piece that he seems to always crave.

He is older than Kevin Durant. He will never be athletic. He is not good shooter. Bad defender. Turnover machine. Mario Chalmers is better than him.

Have you guys even seen Jeremy Lin play a entire game?

I admit I'm 100% biased on Lin, I might even be open to the fact that Dragic is better than Lin (I have never seen Dragic play on the Rockets) so I can disprove that statement.

But the way some people talk down Lin is riiculous. I guess a lot of your are still being mad about the "Look how dumb the Rockets were to release Lin" jokes.

I don't think the timing of your idea works out amigo. Knicks would have 3 days to match once the offer becomes official on the 11th.
Dragic will have agreed to his own contract by that point, and is Unrestricted so Rockets can't match (unlike the Knicks).

the only thing your suggestion would accomplish is p*ssing off Lowry even further...

You forgot to add "Worst NBA player of all-time, not good enough to play in D-League, and only gets hype because he's asian."

He was good for 20 PER last season. I think Dragic is and will be better going forward but I guess Lin is younger & has more marketing value to us.

I really wish we could ditch the veterans to pick up a young center like Favors or Kanter to add to this youth movement

I agree in a perfect world. But since Les owns the team, making money is a key factor in the team's direction. Lin provides national publicity as well as being stadium filler.

And it would look bad if Houston didn't have an all-star in the all-star game when we're hosting it. If Yao made the all-star game injured basically the entire, Lin is a shoe-in.

I think it works because the Knicks matching right away will set the market. Teams will still be extremely reluctant to offer Goran $10 million and he will come back to Morey and take the deal.

Not only that but it also knocks the Knicks out of the PG bidding war for Nash and Nash will go to Toronto and thus the domino effect.

He is very athletic and bigger than 80% of the PG's in the league right now.

    "Madness, sheer madness."

You know, this is exactly the kind of move I feared. It's right inline with Les's philo$ophy.....I'm with Clutch and many others here who believe Dragic is a better player...In fact, I think he'll have a much better career than Lin. Sometimes you need to pay up.....Let's hope it IS part of negotiations ...
