Just give Goran 10 mil, thats fine ! The rockets want to build something then pay the extra 2 million ! If Deron Williams said instead of 100 million gimme 102 would the Rockets not do it? Be real.

Signing Lin is obviously a move to put butts in the seats and to bring another player onto the team that the Asian community will go nuts over, like they did for Yao.

I was actually surprised when Houston let Lin go last year. I figured he'd make the team based on that alone.

Of course if he had stayed, he probably would not have played much in Houston and the whole "Lin-sanity" craze would not have happened.

The trouble I see with bringing in Lin is that chances are that would mean both Lowry and Dragic will be gone. Both of those guys wanna start and with the media circus that surrounds Lin, lots of people would be pushing for Lin to be the starter. Lin probably would be getting paid like one, too. I doubt either Dragic or Lowry wants a guy like Lin around. Those guys want to be assured of being the starter and not fearing the team putting a fan (or media) favorite in ahead of them.

That said, do I want Lin on the team? Maybe. If his being on the team would somehow encourage some big ticket star player to wanna come to Houston then hell yeah, sign him up.

But I'm not holding my breath. I think Lin goes back to NY...

I guess if I were forced to pick only one for my team, I would probably go with Lowry, in a perfect world. However, to be fair I think Lin scores more easily than Lowry and is no more wreckless or turnover-prone than Dragic. They all bring a lot to the table. What I would worry about most with Lin is I haven't read any updates regarding his surgery.

If we sign Lin I’ll join the mob calling for Morey’s Job!!! Get a grip Muary! Lin is worth the MLE at best (which NY would match)….so only way we get Lin is if we offer 7 or 8 million per year.:(

Please tell me this is just a courtesy visit granted to Lin and his agent.

Dragic is better than Lin in about the same way that Lowry is better than Dragic.

Dragic isn't worth $10 million. Lin isn't worth $8 million. Lowry's the better PG out of all three of them and he's on a $5 million contract.

This shouldn't even be a discussion.

It's a world in which Les Alexander knows Lin's marketing put's more money in his pocket than Kyle Lowery can.

I'm starting to think they don't care about quality as much as putting dollars in Alexander's pocket.

If Dragic is walking, pretty sure we wouldn't part with Lowry. But yeah, doesn't make sense to pay a backup more than him. (Though I would definitely go to a lot more Rockets' games if we had Lin.)

I think our organization should care more about what's best for the team than what's best for Le$ pocketbook.

Didn't Lin have one of the highest PERs in the league with his time there in NY? People complain about his turnovers but that's something that can be improved upon. But NY will most definitely match any offer he gets. He is much to important for them.

Come on guys. No way Lin is getting offered 8M per, same way the Rockets didn't offer 8M per for Goran. Woj tweeted the Suns were offering 8-9M if the rockets were in that ball park, don't you think he signs? More like 6-7M will be the offer, with the wink and nod that they're trying to unload Lowry. Goran probably bypassed the Rockets offer because it was probably in the 6-7 range, and two, he wants to be the starter. The Rockets can't guarantee him that until Lowry gets traded. We all thought Lowry was a goner draft night, but he's still here.

Wait a minute. Hasn't Phoenix already traded Goran once, just like an asset?

Lin is a very good on the ball defender but just terrible off the ball. Its like he loses focus or tries too hard to help and loses his man.

Out of Lowry, Dragic and Lin, Lin is the only player(and youngest) who can create his own shots in clutch time.

Is that the one that gave rise to something like the following:

    "Man, Lin looks lonely"

and someone chimbed in "wait until tax time".

That was one of the funiest posts I read last year.

I like Goran Dragic as much as anyone, but if he really is looking for $10 mill per year, I don't know where he is going to get it.

Exactly. RT @HowardBeckNYT: Rockets only waived Lin because were overstocked at PG. With Dragic now appearing likely to go, Lin is priority.
