And I thought the other crux of the argument against Morey is to build 'contenders', not playoff fodders or borderline playoff teams??? You wont get me on anything. The chance was already last year and the year before. Right now Morey needs to do more than just make the playoffs at this point. He needs to have a direction. Making the playoffs is easy for mediocre teams to do by just sheer luck at this point. Now he needs to deliver on playoffs and a direction. That means a young player added or traded for. 3 years at 14th place we might get in at least once by now right?

Except Morey has had to switch gears from 5 years ago thanks to TMac's knee and Yao's foot. DD has been wrong far more often than he has been right. Morey hasn't done anything great, but he hasn't done anything terrible either. We are going into year 3 of trade assets for superstar. Year 1, he built the assets. Year 2 he got "basketball reasoned" out of Gasol, and Howard blocked in getting Howard (I think blackmailing was that they told Howard they were sending him to Houston, and he signed away his ETO to try again at getting the maximum amount from Brooklyn). Starting Year 3, he has deal in place for 5th pick, but the one guy that can't fall to that spot does. Still trying to get Howard, but dealing with brand new GM. We'll see. If it is 2015, and we are still sitting here, talking about almosts, I'll be done waiting. I'll be for hiring somebody who will do something stupid and set back the organization so it can move forward again.
This stance is firm. Make the playoffs and have a direction too. Just barely making it wont cut it this season if its Lowry, Martin, Scola as the driving forces. It needs to have someone else as the driving force now. Last year it was dont be only a 500 team. The year before that was have a direction. No movement on both of those things. So now for the 3rd year straight you have this thing to accomplish. Do it and succes and dont your 4th year of failing to do anything for Morey. 4th year of 500 or 8th seed at best for Morey. With no direction after the first round exit or no playoffs.
You just wont because Morey has never done anything proven anyone wrong on him before. So its unlikely you start to be right now. Thats what happens when you back a guy who constantly helps you lose your points on each subject.
