Hey guys I love your site, I actually came across this when all the TMac rumors were flying around. I am a huge Magic fan and just like last time we once again have a whinny superstar. As you know all the rumors are taking off about Dwight and just like here the Magic fans are up and down and are losing their minds. Dwight is an amazing player and the last thing I want to do is rebuild again but it looks like it is heading that way. With all the possible destinations being talked about there are only 2 I would consider and that id here is Houston or to the Lakers (i hate saying that cause they stole Shaq) but only cause Bynum. Andrew Bynum is the target for the Magic right now but there is no way the Lakers give up AB without a promise from Dwight. I know some of you are not huge fans of your GM but I’m not going to lie he has put together a pretty nice roster of solid players. Much like what the Celtics had before their trades for KG and Allen and like the Clippers with their trade for Paul. I firmly believe in the getting as many assets as possible approach Morey is taking and I’m thinking it’s going to pay off, which is why I want the deal with the Rockets so we can clear space, start obtaining assets and start drafting well. As far was what the Magic will be getting I’m sure it really depends how comfortable Morey is with Dwight’s chances of resigning are. I have read ALOT of your posts and on the RealGM Magic site and I think some of you are right about his options. The Nets are done, they are out of the question. That trade from this morning is total garbage and will not happen for many reasons. They Hawks are a little scary but from what I have read Dwight has zero desire to go home, Much like Lebron he has never really had much loyalty to the city he grew up in. The Mavs are the only other choice imo and why would Dwight leave Houston for Dallas at the cost of millions? Rob Hennigan and Morey both know this that is why I am confident the deal with the Rockets will get done. Im not sure how it will all play out but I love Kyle Lowey, Donatas Montejunas, Jermey Lamb, and Kevin Martin (to trade for another young player and his expiring). If the Magic could get some sort or package around these guys and you get one of our other contracts (thinking Jason Richardson) then I would sign the deal myself. What kind of deal were you guys thinking?
Nice 1st post. I think any deal between the Rockets and Magic start with Kyle Lowry, Kevin Martin and/or Luis Scola, our top 20 protected Dallas pick, and 2 of the following: Patrick Patterson, Chandler Parsons, Jon Leuer, Marcus Morris, Terrence Jones, or Donatas Motiejunas for Dwight, Hedo, and possibly Duhon or Richardson.
I think we really don't want to have to give up Parsons, Donuts or Lamb or even White. It seems we would be fine with sending just about anyone else - Morris, Patterson, Jones, Martin.. something along those lines. Plus a pick or two, but not too much in the way of picks, because of he doesn't stay, then we are extra screwed.
Im willing to give up anything... but thats me... Its nice hearing the other sides thoughts on the situation, especially when the other person is logical and presents a well thought out arguement... If lakers take a bad contract and trade bynum maybe they trump us tho... but i think hennigan wants to go okc and go young with picks...
I've been wondering, why doesn't OKC offer Westbrook, Ibaka, and Perkins for Dwight and Hedo? If Dwight leaves OKC, people will see he doesn't care about winning and we all know how much he wants people to love him.
Come on, Morey, how many fake accounts are you going to create? Just kidding, OP, thanks for stopping by, and I would definitely support the deal you propose.
I'm thinking something like this will work... Howard + Hedo + Jason Richardon for Kevin Martin + Scola + Patterson + Morris + 2013 1st round pick http://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/6113982 Works with the pick going out....
Not sure that will get it done. I'd take Hedo out and add more of our assets. Also, lol @ thread title.
I totally forgot about New Jersey p) having our 1st rounder still... well I'd make it a 2015 1st rounder because if we make that trade I'm sure that would at the least make us playoff bound and fulfill our pick duties to them... If we have to throw in Terrance Jones or D-Mo I'd be fine with that. I held back on prospects because we're taking on TWO bad contracts instead of just the one.
I'd rather have Duhon over Hedo or Richardson. Don't think Morey takes back 2 contracts. Any trade to Orlando will have to include Lowery (young up & coming PG and great contract). So either Martin or Scola, not both. Orlando wants cap space and youth. And I am in a giving mood. Throw in another Lottery protected pick and the rights to Furkan and Leunan.
The problem for the Rockets is we apparently just lost Dragic, so Lowry can no longer realistically be included in a package. But lets just assume that we come to an agreement with Dragic, here would be the most likely package for Howard: Martin or Scola (depending on which of the rookies you choose) + Dallas future first + Lowry + 2 or 3 of the following: Royce White Jeremy Lamb Patrick Patterson Marcus Morris Terrence Jones Donteas Montiejounas No bad contracts coming back, no future picks.
I'd trade Morris and ...uh maybe that furcan guy nothing more Seriously do not want any part of Howard unless he commits to Houston.
