ESPN reporters lose credibilty every day Ric Pukur and Chris r****d only mention the big cities that they want to see the stars
Why would they want Howard then without giving up Bynum? Then they would have 2 centers... Unless do they plan on playing Howard at the PF spot?
Maybe Ron's thread about Bynum to Houston is starting to come to fruition. Howard and Bynum front court would be a defensive wall. Also, an offensive night mare.
He could be talking about NJ but even if he's talking about us... he's absolutely correct. Dwight is top 3 in the league and the only true game changer on the defensive end. 3 non all stars and 3 crappy picks ( even though I like our guys) sounds about right.
Jarrod Rudolph: Source: Lakers are prepared to offer the Andrew Bynum and Metta World Peace to the Magic for Dwight Howard provided Howard signs extension 1 minute ago
No. Nets offer of Lopez(soon to be overpaid), Brooks(so-so second year player), & Whoever the Nets can get in a sign and trade for Humphries(not much) + 3 crappy picks, the best will be a 2014 1st and 2016 1st I believe. That offer sucks, and the Magic might be better off playing out the remainder of Howards contract, and wiping the books The Rockets can offer- -Lowry(Borderline All-star PG) -Pick 2 or 3 out of- Patterson, Motiejunas, Parsons, Lamb, White, Jones, Morris -Dallas late 1st round Pick-(comparable to Rockets pick owned by Nets) -2015 first round pick(lottery protection to be negotiated) -1 of 2 vets- Scola or Martin -Salary cap relief by taking on bad contract or two Houston has the most to offer of any team out there other than the Lakers if they are to offer up Bynum. The only question is whether or not Morey is willing to give up everyone, and take on salary which could hamper his desire to match up Howard with another all-star calliber player like Gordon in free agency. Also would he have enough assets left over to trade for a secondary star in a Pau Gasol type after the trade. Lastly, Morey's major concern would be negotiating the terms of the physical status of Howard, and his ability to play the majority of an 82 game season next year. This last note might be the only trump card the Nets have in a Dwight deal if there is concerns about his healthy they are the one team with a guarentee. If Im Morey, Dwight being healthy enough to play has a huge factor in my decision. If not, your better off targeting a mix of Gordon in S&T, and possibly Josh Smith.
That's a very reasonable offer considering the Nets and the Magic know Howard will sign there long term. A lot less would be offered for a rental. If Howard were going to sign a long term extension prior to being traded here, I'm sure morey would break the bank.
I'd be willing to take a bad contract back: Turkoglu - 2 years Duhon - 2 years J. Richardson - 3 years, but only at MLE money (and always the chance he improves his stock and opts out of the 3rd year). I wouldn't take Davis, who at 3 years and being a PF, would be torture. We only have one bad contract, and it belongs to Luis Scola.
