Looking at both teams roster... who in the hell would this third team want from these two teams. Lopez? I'm assuming he goes to orl and not the 3rd team
Man I disagree. Al plays center almost exclusively with the Hawks plus he is a lot better on defense and rebounds a lot better then Lopez. As a center IMO Lopez is a joke plus he is a BYC player. Horford is only 26 and the Hawks could add picks just like the Nets. What young players with high ceilings would Orlando get from the Nets? The draft picks from a team that has DWill, Joe Johnson and D12 in the same line up is going to be 25 or worse.
Houston would dodge a bullet by not getting Howard. If Houston stepped in now for a disgrunted Howard, he would resent the Rockets organization for wasting another year of his time/career. This will not end well. And Rockets will be stuck with Hedo's contract. Hoping and wishing Howard would have a change of heart once he gets here is a pipedream. This is real life not some romantic comedy movie. After all said and done we'll just have a bunch of angry Rockets fans. I'll say, pass..
Because Orlando most likely wants to be bad for a few years. Our package would keep them in purgatory. I agree that those picks are pretty useless IMO Orlando should ask for unprotected picks in 2021 and 2023 instead of 2013. I'd rather have their pick when their core is retired or washed up instead of next year.
My god, that would be hilarious. Nets trade for Johnson to help them keep Deron, ends up being the reason Dwight goes to ATL.
If the Nets make this trade, they will need a PF. Well look here: http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/222018/Mirza_Teletovic_Reaches_Deal_With_Nets Does that mean the trade is going to happen?
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Confirmed. 3 yrs, $15.675M Using MLE RT @<a href="https://twitter.com/HowardBeckNYT">HowardBeckNYT</a>: Nets have reached deal in principle with Mirza Teletovic, source says.”</p>— Chad Ford (@chadfordinsider) <a href="https://twitter.com/chadfordinsider/status/220188390392471552" data-datetime="2012-07-03T16:12:57+00:00">July 3, 2012</a></blockquote> <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> How did they qualify for the full MLE?
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Since the Nets are using the non-taxpayer mid-level, their payroll cannot exceed $74M under new rules.</p>— Ken Berger (@KBergCBS) <a href="https://twitter.com/KBergCBS/status/220192450495512576" data-datetime="2012-07-03T16:29:05+00:00">July 3, 2012</a></blockquote> <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> Is it possible to have D Will maxed out, Joe Johnson, Hedo's contract, and Dwight plus the rest of the roster and be under 74 million?
Nicely said. We already resent this guy for all his drama. Imagine the fury that will be directed at him if he pulls up lame (oh, my back still hurts) and leaves at the drop of a hat after his obligatory season in Houston is over. Carlos Beltran & T-Mac will seem like saints compared to him.
If the Magic don't want Brook who would? What about Humphries? Boston, Philly and Knicks don't want Howard in their division- so they won't help. Atlanta and Dallas might still want Howard, so they won't help. Miami & Chicago won't want to face the Nets in the playoffs, so they won't help. If we've given up on Howard, maybe we could take Brook in exchange for one of our more redundant youngsters (Patterson, Morris, Jones etc.). Would a team like the Spurs be interested in Humphries? Would the Lakers try to get Humphries even if it meant losing out on Dwight?
Williams: 17+ million Johnson: 19 million Hedo: 11 million Dwight: 19 million Wallace: 9+ million Doesn't seem likely. Perhaps they take on Jason Richardson instead of Turkoglu.(saw that somewhere in all these rumors)
DWill Joe Johnson Gerald Wallace D12 I dent know who their PF would be (Scola?) but that line up would be scary good. Good offense good defense!
They'd probably start that Bosnian three point shooter whom they just signed. Which might work, given how well Ryan anderson fit with Dwight, except this guy would be the 5th option. Teams would have to choose between doubling dwight, trying to protect the paint from the three slashers on the perimeter, or letting him space the floor.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>I'm stunned that Orlando isn't crazy about trading the league's 3rd best player for 3 non All-Stars and 3 crappy picks.</p>— Bill Simmons (@sportsguy33) <a href="https://twitter.com/sportsguy33/status/220156571873853441" data-datetime="2012-07-03T14:06:31+00:00">July 3, 2012</a></blockquote> <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
For every good or smart thing Bill Simmons says, he makes an equally stupid statement about his Celtics.
