how about how Morey treats all of his players like doo doo… he JUST signed Lowry last year, Then Dragic plays awesome and lowry is on the table treated like a asset.. THEN morey low balls dragic and won't pay him.. AMAZING.. then we have our 3 best players pissed all season because morey is constantly trying to trade them… Moreyball at it's finest.. some of you guys are just flat out amazing.. questioning danny ferry and saying he made a bad move for scrubs.. HAHAHAHA… it's called clearing your books of horrid contracts, yes they will blow next year but when THEY are picking in the top 5 and we are getting told AGAIN that morey is "Working his toosh off to trade up into the top 5" i will say the hawks are gonna be a lot better off then us.. we have NO DIRECTION.. morey is just looking really foolish.. but i guess when the season starts and ends and we are 42-40 and #9 in the west again maybe you will start to see.. i thought most of you would by now..
Nope, i said that's when my opinion of him changed. The (then) future success of Gortat and Ariza is immaterial to me. I was simply answering the OP's thread. Sorry for answering rather than engaging in the degeneration of the thread into the "i'm a smarter fan than you" debate.
Please find me the quotes of all the people who give press conferences and state they think their boss is wrong and their plan won't work but they will try it anyway.
Maybe Larsv8, maybe. I think he has this year, but if he does not manage to mold this roster into something by the end, it is probably time for a change at that spot. I am 50/50 on him...like some of his moves, hate others. TWill for instance - sucked, if he is going to take TWill then he has to put him on the floor - and he should have worked that out with the coach beforehand. Also, I hate the McHale hiring, I think he is an old school guy whose ideas about basketball have passed him by.... DD
This is exactly wrong. Les is the one who is impatient. He has to win NOW. Some of us are saying we're fine with losing if it means we're giving young guys a chance to play...if we're picking higher in the draft. That's the longer view....not trying to win now and rebuild on the fly.
Other than Rick being fired and hiring McHale I think Morey has done an excellent job given the cards he has been dealt. I'm not in the knee jerking crowd.
When do people stop giving him the benefit of the doubt? When we trade for a superstar? When we end up as 9th seed again and get the 14th pick? There has to be a line in the sand.
i understand. it just seemed like you were also implying that ferry made a bad trade by "dumping joe johnson for garbage" (and a 1st rounder).
Complains that Morey treats Lowry like an asset after Dragic outplays him. Gets mad when Morey doesn't pay Dragic what he wants to stay as the starter over Lowry. 3 "best" players on a non-playoff should be off limits in trades. #basketballreasons Who said he made a horrible trade? I said he did just that...cleared contracts. I repeat. What would be the advantage of trading Kevin Martin, on a one year deal, for another player on a one year deal. He apparently was prepared to do that with Scola before the Nets went and traded all of those players for Joe Johnson. Nobody is knocking Danny Ferry. He made a good deal. The Rockets only have one bad contract. Scola. Just one. Put on your thinking cap folks. It's about time the Hawks get a top 5 pick. They've never had a high draft pick before. Can't wait to see their future!
Come on, use some common sense. Who in their right mind would publicly state that they disagreed with their boss's decisions? The years of mediocrity area all at Les' feet.
Nope. I mean yes, he did dump him for garbage. But it was expiring contract garbage, something that it would make zero sense to do with Martin. Or Lowry. I mean do people really want the Rockets to trade Lowry for expiring scrubs?
Ok, so basically you are in the Rocket River moron-conspiracy theory camp: Morey actually DOESN'T want to tank and is contradicting his boss in public as part of a scheme in order to dupe Alexander and throw suspicion off of himself; meanwhile he is feverishly shedding draft picks because he thinks they are for losers and welcomes each 43 win season with triumph. I hear the french call Morey "Le Renard" because of this incredibly dubious diabolical scheme. Maybe from now on you could just tye "Le Renard" instead of Morey so that we are clear where you stand in terms of moron conspiracy theories.
haha, good comeback mav-hater.. a LOT of substance there.. i applaud your genius and defense of how morey is doing a bang up job… i give FACTS, you just say nothing.. neat.. face it sunshine pumper, morey isn't getting the job done. if it's ALLLLL Les like you sunshine pumpers say, then Morey should walk away, I for one wouldn't stay and make my resume look bad.. I would hop on the next bus and get another Gig.. Morey is revered in the nba supposedly so i doubt he would have a problem getting another job.. none of you sunshine pumpers can even back up what you say.. end of the day, it's all about results.. so start posting all of our success and i will be on board with morey…
Excuses excuses....keep on treading water, at some point a ship might come by.....of course the ToyBox will be empty by then. DD
No, I am fine with them, but if you do those moves you need to be on the same page as the coach and be willing to commit to playing them. Morey and Adelman were rarely on the same page - obviously and that smacks of poor managment. DD
You don't sound very appreciative with the HIS TEAM HIS PLAN HIS FAILURE FAILURE EPIC FAIL posts that you continue to make ...
They are assets. Lowry was being shopped because he was our #1 asset. A young PG that looked like he was breaking out and was on a great contract. Morey has to entertain trading everybody, because he doesn't want to keep being the 8th/9th best team in the West. How much different would things be if the deal for Gasol hadn't been blocked by Stern? I'm not sure we would have been better off, but it would change Morey's current perception.
All true. This is the team he put together, he is trying to execute his own plan. If he fails at that, it is on him. I don't think there is any room to debate that..... People can say..."Well it takes 2 to make a trade"....well, Morey should have factored that in when he put together "HIS PLAN" It is either his lack of execution that is the problem, or his plan that is the problem, but either way, it is his failure. Feel better now Mike? DD
