Ditto. The day Morey and co. leave this franchise might be the day I give up on Rockets basketball for good... I can tolerate a lack of results for a long time, but never will I ever be able to tolerate ignorance, lack of logic/common sense, and incompetence. Thank God we have a great front office.

:) This is classic. "If the GM gets fired, I quit on the team." I've heard this about players....we laughed about Yao Only Fans, right?

Apparently there are Morey Only Fans. Awesome.

This is fair. I think Morey is an incredibly intelligent GM, but I think the organization is in trouble because of Les having a fear of losing his fanbase if they go into rebuilding mode. Hard to blame him when you see the Astros go into ghost town mode, but it is still a handicap on the team.

    I hope Not
Now is not the time to overpay
Should have overpaid some folx when Ming and TMac were earlier in their career.

The one Moment they took a risk . . . RON ARTEST
    It paid off.
They got some good will . . they immediately crawfished back into the SAFE HOUSE

Can't really point to a specific time. I guess a build up of things over time, probably within the last year or so(?). Rant below

As for Adelman, at the time, I didn't mind letting Rick go. Wasn't too big a deal for me. Not that I wanted McHale(or Casey or Frank--all 3 guys are/were underwhelming). I hated the fact that Rick was seen as a 'God' around here, like Morey once was. As if no one was capable of replacing him or couldn't do what he did. Well...the Rockets are still in the same position, although I will say to Rick's credit, guys liked him. The players liked him. Doesn't seem to be the case now with the players and McHale.

I hated that Morey tried to force a guy onto Adelman. Dumb. I joke about it but Morey got his 'yes man' in McHale.

Maybe it was the Marcus Morris pick? Did not want that guy. Another 6'9 F, are you kidding me?

Now that I'm not so dumb or naive, ha, or now that I'm just realizing it, basically been saying the same thing for 3 years now. People are tired of hot air and the same ol' talk.

Collecting players, fit be damned, that have turned into nothing.

No real plan that I see. Collecting players and hoping you get a star for them or hoping they turn out to be stars themselves, not a real plan.

Becoming the next Hawks, Grizzlies, and maybe Pacers, not good enough.

Getting fans to tweet 'how much you love Gortat, Dragic, Gordon, Asik,'etc' is silly. One big PR stunt, just like sending the rowdies to Miami to 'meet' Chris Bosh when Bosh was in Dallas.

I guess this is more of a rant, so I better stop.

Respond to me in here Rocket, not via rep lol.

I was stunned to see you leave me rep with normal punctuation!

To answer your question, Morey is not my God and your opinion of him has had no bearing on my opinion of you. :)

Sorry if my post was hateful, but these constant threads that are basically designed to rehash the whining going on in all the other threads are making me testy.

Well, depends. Unless we can get someone more capable to take the helm. I just can't imagine myself approving of someone who makes idiotic deals without a clear methodology - even if that guy manages to get us the number one pick every year. I don't care if you actually win or not - if you had a 5% chance to win $1, you always get $0.05 in my mind. The 5% guy wins more than the 10% guy after 10 trials, it's just variance. You deal with it. Hey, I'll be around for 40 more years at least. This is a long term thing.

The last straw for me was not allowing Finch to continue the offense that had worked so well for us under Adelman. We weren't designed to be a strickly P'nR team.

Lets just put it this way...

If I hypothetically bought an NBA team, I would pursue Daryl Morey as my GM.

I still think he is one of the best 4-5 GM's in the NBA...

The situation has not been easy, and the owner (while not afraid to spend and wants to win) is stubborn...

My opinion hasn't changed. Since he got here he has been fighting an uphill battle. He was able to clear out the bad contracts we had on the books. He has consistently tried to upgrade the talent on the roster witout locking us in to bad contracts for years. We had our two franchise players and they were always injured. Not his fault. So now we are chasing another franchise player with direction from the owner to not tank and get a high draft pick to rebuild. People dont understand how difficult that is. It's not always as easy as you think to get another team to do a trade with you. As much as you guys want to blame him for not getting it done, it's not always his fault. You have no idea what the other team is asking for in the trade. They could be asking us to take back a bad contract that would limit us for the next 2-3 years.

If we dont resign Dragic you will prob blame him for that also. Knowing Dragic is not worth over 8mil a year. Somebody overpays let him walk.

So I will wait to see what type of team we have after this summer going into training camp. I still think there are moves to be made.

When DM pulled the trigger on the Stern vetoed Pau Gasol trade, I became wary... Prior to that I figured DM was a buy low sell high, investment vs return kinda guy... To give up assets for Pau's poison contract made me start to wonder...

Then draft night really got me disenchanted... Terrence Jones? Really? I understand if yer in the top of the draft, take the best talent rather than need... But when you have 3 picks and dont walk away with a single center? WTF? How do you not take Melo or another center at at least 18? Even if you dont think Fab has the potential - u still take him, since you need to trade for a center and he would make a nice enticement for whoever yer trying to get a center from....

Asik? Really? Is this guy gonna evolve into our starting center in future years? Prob not... just another asset for Morey to flip at a future date....

at somepoint u have to pick a horse and ride it!

Honestly, I am getting to the point where I think this might be a good thing.

I don't know what it is, maybe society in general, or whatever but just listening to the radio and reading people's posts, our fan base is so bad. Completely ignorant, irrational, mob like "we want blood" metality from just about every one of them. Now of course, there a still a ton of good fans. (Carl Herrera has been nailing it lately), but the idiots are by far the loudest.

People want to start over with the team? I think we should start over with the fan base and actually get some good smart rational people in here.

On 790 today Matt Jackson was talking to a Morey basher and who was saying Morey can't do anything and he asked him "Well what about Eric Gordon? Do you want him?" And the guy responded with something like "NO MAN! I'm tired of all these old guys! We need to get younger and stop getting these old guys!" So Matt proceeded to prod him to figure out if he even knew who Eric Gordon was. The guy guessed correctly that he was a guard and then admitted he didn't know what team he played for or his age.

    It was good radio

Sam Dalembert was the one who got the Rockets out of picking 14th for the 3rd straight year. Just not in the way we would have imagined.

Obviously I am nowhere near as pessimistic as most on this board seem to be. I did not hear any fat lady singing so I don't think it is over and I still see us being in great position to do something. My gut tells me something big is going to happen whether it be to us directly or us facilitating for someone else. I think eventually he will set us up to be in a position for Shabazz and Wiggins. There is still a lot of dancing to be done in the next 2 to 3 weeks and we happen to be one of the prettier dance partners at the ball.

    Was that enough cliche's?

Yea I heard that on the way to work, it was classic

    Thats why I love MattJ.

A clearly ignorant idiot, yelling about something he knows nothing about, and the guy got put in his place.
