He's a post player & a young one at that, you could possibly offense through his post game. I'd much rather gamble with him than settle for Asik.
The fun of this is watching the Major League hardball. Don't get too hung up on every tweet. It's all calculated for effect and nothing is done until the ink is dry. (this sh** happens in every business deal that ever gets done, it just isn't in the papers)
Perfecting....effn perfect. I kept trying to tell everybody on here that Lopez is a better trade piece to offer than any 1 thing the rockets have to offer and not to count them out. But I kept getting told over and over again that Lopez sucks and Rockets offer would be so much better than anything Nets could offer. To all those that told me I was wrong I hope at least now you will stop overvaluing Rockets "assets."
@Woj For Nets-Magic to progress on a Dwight Howard deal, a 3rd team needed to take Kris Humphries in a sign-and-trade, league source tells Y! Get it done Morey
So let me get this straight... Brooklyn's offer to Orlando is that Orlando can become the New Jersey Nets. Wha?
Neither does taking on Kris Humphries while some other team gets the benefit of you taking on a ****ty contract!!!
Well then why would Orlando even want this??? Lopez Is supposed to be the best Asset the Nets have... So what they get Humpries, Brooks and 3 late first round picks for the most dominant player in the game? who not just give them Dwight??
so if this goes down, I think we are better off developing the talent we have than trying to chase championship pieces through trade. Not saying we shouldn't still pursue trades. Just saying that we shouldn't jettison our young talent for older players. There is no such thing as "win now" with OKC, Miami, and the New Brooklyn set to dominate for the next several years. We have a better chance of hitting the jackpot with a couple of the guys we just drafted and building something that lasts. Part of me is glad the Dwight drama is coming to an end.
So they are literally trying to get just Brooks and Lopez back for Dwight Howard? Oh and what would end up as 3 picks spread over a 5 year period in the 20-30 range if the Nets were to have Williams-Johnsons-Wallace-Howard-whoever else.
Dwight is begging to go to Brooklyn because Jay-z / Prokhorov will give him a bonus under the table if he does
The one thing I seriously have not heard a peep about during all of this is: the Orlando Magic FANS. The fans kind of need to be on board with whatever deal gets done, or this franchise is about to become the worst-supported NBA team in the league. If EVER there was a legitimate reason for Stern to step in and say 'Basketball Reasons' for nixing a trade, this is it. You can't trade away a top-five talent in the league and get basically nothing in return. It is not equitable. The precedent it sets is horrific for the league if this goes through. A diva player makes demands which are not compatible with the contract HE SIGNED, and the team caves and gives him exactly what he wants, thus screwing the team, the fans, and the entire league?? I just don't see how a newly-hired GM in Orlando can ever make this deal and survive the week with a job. Maybe this is Stern's way of getting a team back into Seattle, since there are not going to be anything attending Magic games except tumbleweeds and crickets. I honestly don't even care where he goes any more, as long as he does NOT go to the Nets.
