America says it's time to move on Hightop. Poll: 56 Percent Want ‘Obamacare’ Opponents To Move On A clear majority of Americans think opponents of the Affordable Care Act should not try to block the law’s implementation, a new poll shows. According to the latest survey from Kaiser Family Foundation, conducted by Princeton Survey Research Associates, 56 percent believe that detractors to the law widely known as “Obamacare” should move on to tackle the nation’s other problems, compared with only 38 percent who believe they should continue their efforts to block the law from being implemented. Forty-seven percent of respondents in Kaiser’s poll approve of the Supreme Court’s ruling last week to uphold the health care law, while 43 percent disapprove. A comparable divide in public opinion appeared in a Monday poll from CNN, which showed that 50 percent of Americans agree with the high court’s ruling and 49 percent disagree.
Roberts used a game genie cheat to rule the law constitutional without embracing the commerce clause.
A penalty is when one does something wrong. A tax is when there is a levy on goods and/or services. Pelosi's penalty is assessed on everyone, so we must all be doing something wrong -- like working, eating, sleeping, buying or, in this case, breathing.
No, it's only assessed if you don't get health insurance, which is wrong since you are putting the burden on someone else. You are making someone else pay for your health. Therefore you are doing something wrong and are assessed a penalty. If you don't do anything wrong and have health insurance, you are not assessed the penalty.
The fact that you are burdening someone by not buying health insurance is a really bizarre concept to me. Why are you responsible for another person's health. How about smoking, eating habits, exercise. All these cost the health care system. It is now within the courts power to tax us for not doing something. Should there be a fat tax? After all it's wrong to be fat since you are putting the burden on someone else.
what's so bizarre? If you don't have insurance, someone else pays for your health care when you need it. This has nothing to do with smoking, what you eat or whatever. It's not about costing the health care system. It's about using something and not paying for it. There are no free rides.
I see it as a fine. If you dont buy it, you get fined. What amazes me is that, how do they expect people who are right at the cut off point, or slightly above, to pay for this? On average, it will be $695 a month. Who can afford that?
So instead of paying for the roughly 50 million people who dont have health insurance when they do go to the hospital, everyone will just pay regardless. Whats the difference? Why not fine those who dont have low energy lights in their homes?
I have a better poll question: How sweet will Hightops tears taste if Obama wins the 2012 Presidential Election? A) Plain Sugar B) Cheesecake C) Pure Honey D) bigtexxx's tears
What cutoff point are you referring to? There are phased out subsidies for people who can't afford it - there's no singular "cutoff" point. And what is $695/month? The fine is $695/year.
